At least one possible benefit of the Ground Zero mosque

It’s really hard to find a good reason why a $100 million 13 story mosque/Islamic center should be erected near ground zero in lower Manhattan.

In fact, the vast majority of Americans are against the plan, and I personally believe that it’s a blatant act of provocation and a monument to victory over the infidels.

However, even this disgusting project can have a thin silver lining in the case that it actually gets completed. I believe that the chances of that happening are about 50-50.

Anyway, I was thinking that if the $100 million project does get completed, the chance of a terrorist nuclear attack on New York City is greatly decreased. Why go through all this trouble then level it with the rest of the city?

I don’t really know how valid the terrorist nuclear threat really is, but there has been no shortage of “experts” over the past several years who stated that it’s only a matter of time.

If the Ground Zero mosque does get built, it can also be used as an indicator of a grand scale attack – nuclear of otherwise. If the 13 story Islamic Center suddenly becomes desolate, it may be time to get out of Dodge. Then again, they probably have little to no regard for killing their own, so my whole point is most likely moot anyway. Who knows?

Almost forgot. There’s at least one other benefit to the Ground Zero mosque being built in lower Manhattan – especially if you live or work in the vicinity. You will be able to basically park anywhere you want and not worry about restrictions because it seems that the City of New York does not give out parking tickets in the close vicinity of a mosque. So you got that going for you too!

If terrorists are willing to blow themselves up to kill Americans — why would they care about leveling one mosque? It’s not like this is the only mosque in NYC. Not sure this logic makes sense.

Heidi,
I understand and agree with you. The post was done in half jest. However, it doesn’t hurt to keep an eye on what they’re doing and where they’re going. Hopefully our FBI already keeps an eye on those things.
