When will Obama speak out on black crime and violence?
The Drudge Report recently linked to a story from the Baltimore Sun about a 14 year old black female shooting one of her robbery victims to death because he supposedly laughed at her. Officials charged 14 year old Arteesha Holt with first degree murder among other charges related to the shooting. She was supposedly robbing the men at gunpoint as part of a gang initiation. The girl’s parents and family members told police that the girl had an uncontrollable temper and that she needed help. Really now?
In a story from this past weekend, gangs of black yutes – or youths, were allegedly targeting and beating up white people near the fairgrounds of the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines. Read story here. Witnesses including a police officer supposedly heard the rampaging youths scream out that it was “Beat Whitey Night.” However, Des Moines police officials say they can’t confirm that race was a factor in the attacks. Uh, hmm…
In the Port Richmond section of Staten Island, NY, there has been a rash of attacks on Mexican immigrants at the hands of young black males – youths! These attacks are being looked at by the NYPD as potential hate crimes. Read story here.
Recently there have also been a number of “flash mobs” terrorizing large urban areas. For the most part, the media has attempted to hide the fact that most if not all of these flash mobs were composed of black youths. The city of Philadelphia has itself experienced six flash mobs within a year’s period. During the city’s last flash mob incident in March the youths were heard chanting “burn the city.” There were also several people assaulted by the mob, as well as dozens of stores damaged. In what has slowly but surely become a NYC tradition, this past Easter Sunday, a mob of marauding youths converged on Manhattan’s Time Square. Four people were shot and 54 youths were either arrested or given summonses. City officials said they feared this was becoming an annual gang event. Mayor Bloomberg referred to the incident a “bunch of wilding gang members.” The police refused to categorize this incident as a flash mob, but that’s just an issue of semantics since the “wilding” was obviously planned. This not being a crime blog, you may be asking: what’s the point?
My point is that the above examples are just the tiny tip of an enormous iceberg. There are countless stories every day from all around the country of violence and crime being perpetrated by black youths. The attacks are not always race related by any means, but in the past year or so, an alarming rate of them seem to be. The politically correct mainsream media has become such a joke in their reporting on these types of crimes that they have inadvertently helped to create a new code word. Youths = young black people.
The question is why are black youths so angry? Why are black youths becoming increasingly violent? Why are black youths so focused on race? What is driving this phenomenon?
Wasn’t the election of Barack Obama supposed to finally solve the problem of race relations? Wasn’t Barack Obama supposed to bring people together? Wasn’t he supposed to be the “post-racial president?”
The fact is that Obama has done more to set back race relations than any president since the civil rights era. He and his left-wing cronies in the Democrat Party have consistently used black Americans as pawns in fighting the opposition to their Socialist dreams for America. As usual, the mainstream media has gone along with the program. They have also been aided by a despicable public education establishment that is more concerned with indoctrinating students with their left-wing political ideology than giving them a classic education.
Obama has managed to turn just about everything he does into a racial issue. Instead of empowering and inspiring black people, and black youth in particular, he’s actually managed to create a greater sense of victimhood. In a day and age when young black people enjoy the greatest opportunities they’ve ever had, they seem to be more isolated from mainstream society, and often filled with resentment, anger and rage. Even though Obama’s polls still show strong support from the black community, it’s my belief that he has let them down as much or more than the rest of America. His job destroying economic policies have made it even harder for black youth to get decent work. His proposed energy and environmental polices would only exacerbate the problems. All the while Obama stokes the flames of resentment within the black community in order to demonize his political opponents.
Although Obama is a demagogue who uses certain racial and religious groups as political pawns, it doesn’t excuse individuals from those groups for allowing themselves to be used. It’s pretty easy to understand why black Americans were totally mesmerized by Barack Hussein Obama in 2008, but they now need to start holding him accountable. Black Americans will not improve their lives by perpetually blaming Bush, Republicans, or White People for all their problems. However, people will rarely change if they have enablers who make it easy not to.
If Barack Obama is to have any legacy besides bankrupting our nation for generations to come, he should publicly urge the black youth of America to turn away from violence, drugs, gangs, and the bad elements of the Hip-Hop culture. For obvious reasons, Obama is the first president who has the authority to address this issue. Instead of Michelle Obama telling young people what they should eat, perhaps she should use her influence as the first black First Lady to urge young black females to not fall into the same traps as young black males. She should encourage them to get educated, to wait longer to have children, and to not reward thuggery in their male counterparts.
Even though Barack Obama was totally unqualified to become president, (In my opinion) he could have at least given some real hope and possibly created some real change for young black Americans. Instead, he’s proved himself to be nothing more than a power hungry Leftist ideologue who really doesn’t care much for anyone or anything other than himself and his radical agenda.
