Message to Obama: Just flapping your gums doesn’t cut it anymore!

During the 2008 presidential campaign, Barack Obama was given God-like status by the media in regards to his oratory skills. He was so articulate, as well as being clean and bright! His mesmerized followers dropped like flies; passing out during his brilliantly inspired speeches about hope and change. Even one of my sisters (political neophyte who thankfully never voted in her life) commented on how he had such a nice voice – so smooth and silky. All Obama had to do was open his trap and everyone’s problems would magically be solved.

We all remember Peggy Joseph; the poster girl for Obama’s hope and change campaign.

For me, Ms. Joseph is the gift that keeps on giving. It’s too bad that she can’t receive some sort of royalties from this video; she definitely wouldn’t have to worry about her gas and mortgage anymore.

Within a year of taking office much of Obama’s charm had already started to erode. Many Americans had caught on to the fact that the media mistook (or misrepresented) his oratory skills for teleprompter reading skills. People saw his hope and change theme change to a blame Bush and don’t question anything I do theme. His speeches now began to be seen as stern lectures rather than inspirational masterpieces. Sure millions of Americans saw these things from the beginning, but now the supposedly moderate pragmatists known as Independents were slowly awakening to reality. Better late than never!

Now twenty months into his already failed presidency, Obama is still using the same playbook and tactics that he used during his campaign and during the infancy of his administration. He still believes that all he has to do is show up on TV, open up his trap, and flap his gums. He still seems to believe that he can charm (snooker) the American people into believing that his radical agenda is anything but a disaster.

Over the weekend, Obama was interviewed (aka having his butt kissed) by NBC’s Brian Williams during the media’s five year celebration…I mean commemoration of the Hurricane Katrina disaster. Once again, Obama was terse and defensive in responding to just about every issue that was raised. During one particular question about the recent poll stating that 18% of Americans believe Obama to be a Muslim, he made the following statement:

This was a typical Obama passive-aggressive answer that usually gets rousing applause and laughter from his mind-numbed sycophants when spoken at one of his staged public addresses. If the statement was indeed meant to be funny, Obama doesn’t really understand one of the key elements of comedy. A joke should have a grain of truth embedded into it in order for it to have any meaning.

The statement doesn’t make any sense, and it isn’t funny because Obama has NEVER made public his official birth certificate; much less wear it on his forehead. The phony certificate of live birth that was posted on his website was abruptly removed once its validity and authenticity began to be questioned. Besides his birth certificate, the American people have also never been privy to his medical records, college transcripts, thesis papers, (if he ever wrote any) and Illinois State Senate records.

Today Obama continued to blame George Bush for the horrific economy during an address from the Rose Garden. He once again dodged all responsibility for all of the nation’s problems. He blamed Republicans for standing in the way of his economic policies. In other words: more government spending. Once again Obama attempted to portray himself as a victim at the hands of the Republicans and the Media. What ever happened to being a leader?

In less than two years in office, one can easily see the strain, frustration, and white hot anger that is eating away at our omnipresent leader. These frustrations are not due to the fact that his economic policies aren’t working; they are working exactly as he and his administration hoped they would. It’s all about transformation. Obama’s anger, frustration, etc. are due to the fact that just opening his mouth and spouting meaningless platitudes isn’t working like it used to. It wasn’t too long ago that all he needed to do was flap his gums and the whole country seemingly fell under his spell.

Poor President Obama; if only America had 40 or 50 million more Peggy Josephs.
