NBC Channel 4 News at 6:00 just led off their broadcast with an extremely important, yet sad story of a mosque in Bethpage, NY being shut down by the town just as the “holy month” of Ramadan was about to begin. They reported the story with the seriousness and furrowed brows that one would expect from reporting on a national disaster.

All private property owners in America have the right to hang banners from their homes saying that Muslims are pigs. Americans also have the right to walk around wearing t-shirts stating their hate for certain racial or ethnic groups. However, the overwhelming majority of decent and reasonable people would agree that doing these things is not a good idea on so many different levels.

What I would like to know, is what if anything is going to happen to the woman who seemed to have started this whole fiasco? I was under the impression that not following the instructions of the plane’s crew was a pretty stiff offence in 2010 America. Why has this woman not also been arrested as was Mr. Slater? Since when does one person’s crime nullify a second person’s crime? The woman should have listened to Mr. Slater, but she’s evidently the type who believes that she’s more important than the rest of the passengers. Unfortunately, I believe we all know her type all too well.

Knowing the despicable mainstream media better than I know myself, I guarantee that the airing of this re-run is far from coincidental. ABC ran this 2008 program because of the current controversy over the Super-Mosque near ground zero.
