President’s Day: time to trash George Washington and other dead white founders
A couple of days ago I watched a program on the History Channel titled: The Real George Washington. According to the left-wingers at the History Channel, Washington could easily be interpreted as a not so nice a guy, if not an outright bad guy.
First of all, I fully understand that no man is perfect. So I don’t by any means believe that George Washington was akin to Jesus Christ – no man is. I also understand that men should be judged not only by their actions, but by the time in which these actions occurred. But Washington was indeed a great man and a great leader who accomplished things that to this day still seem impossible. These accomplishments led to the birth of the greatest nation and the greatest system of government in the history of mankind. Washington was even dumbfounded by his own success and often credited divine intervention for his miraculous achievements during the Revolutionary War.
I didn’t expect nor want the History Channel to run a Kim Jong-il type fairytale puff piece, but I didn’t expect a thinly veiled trashing either.
Part of the program, of course, explored Washington’s dealings with slaves. Fine, no problem, we all know that Washington, Jefferson, and many of the founding fathers were slave owners. Over two hundred years later we understand in hindsight that it wasn’t right, but it was obviously an excepted and legal practice during that particular time in history. It’s also a fact that the Inca Empire and other South American indigenous cultures practiced human sacrifice. Are those cultures reviled by historians and academics as being barbaric? I don’t think so! There is no way that 21st century man can even imagine what it was like to exist during that period in time, so we pretty much acknowledge what went on and move along.
I wasn’t really irked or surprised that the program delved into Washington’s slave ownership. What really had me scratching my head was their far-reaching and unnecessary attempt to dismantle the whole “I cannot tell a lie” myth. Most people are already aware that the old cherry tree story has no basis in fact. But to me it seemed that the History Channel chose to use this fable as a lead into trashing Washington’s character.
These are some of the lines used in the program to describe Washington:
- wasn’t above deceptive practices
- wasn’t too honest or principled to get his hands dirty
- a master of trickery and deception
- the most consummate liar of the Revolutionary War
- enjoyed the dirty business of espionage
- willing to blur ethical lines for a greater cause
- this duplicity flies in the face of a childhood legend
Watch the three minute trailer here.
And the complete program here.
Mind you, these lines were used to describe his actions during the war against the British. So let me get this straight; it is wrong to lie to, deceive and trick your enemy during war! Was an outmanned and outgunned Washington supposed to send a copy of his strategy to the British before every battle? What the…?
By the way, the above mentioned statements would be a lot more accurate if describing the day to day lives of Bill Clinton and/or Barack Obama.
It’s no surprise that the age of Barak Obama has emboldened certain institutions to really come out with their true feelings about our nation’s history. These institutions want nothing more than to slowly but surely weaken our history to the point where it can no longer justify our present. How good can the constitution be when the men who wrote it were bad?
But the exploration of left-wing academia into the dark closets of history is, as usual, selective and arbitrary. When will we see a History Channel program on Martin Luther King where his sexual deviancies and marital infidelities are openly discussed and explored? When will we see a program during black history month that digs into MLK’s well-established involvement with the U.S. Communist Party? For that matter, when will schools let students in on the historical fact that African blacks were kidnapped by other African blacks and Arabs and sold into slavery? Or, that American Indians were butchering each other for hundreds of years before white Europeans arrived.
I’m not holding my breath.
There is a scary sentiment that currently runs through a significant portion of our society. This sentiment is not only anti-capitalist, but overtly anti-white. This mindset is not only acceptable in many circles, but it’s often encouraged by pop culture, academia, and even segments of our government and media. It’s a mindset that lays all the blame for the world’s problems on white males – white Christian American males of European ancestry to be exact. This sentiment blinds itself to all of the historical atrocities of just about every race of people – other than the white race. Christopher Columbus accomplished nothing if not spreading racism, slavery, and white supremacy throughout the New World. Washington, Jefferson, and Madison owned slaves; Henry Ford exploited workers; and Ronald Reagan used the CIA to bring crack and AIDS into black neighborhoods. The heroes are: Barack and Michelle Obama, Che Guevara, Martin Luther King, Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, and even Mao Zedong. While whites comprise about 20% (high end) of the world’s population (some figures claim between 9 and 12%) they are very often portrayed as an overbearing majority. Terms such as Black-Pride, Hispanic-Pride, and Gay-Pride are mainstream and acceptable, while the term White-Pride is…well you know!
This anti-white European sentiment is just as vile and potentially just as dangerous as the anti-Jewish sentiment of World War Two era Germany. Every race has its good and its bad, but living in 2012 America can make it seem that whites are the root of all evil and the greatest obstacle to creating a world-wide utopia.
Yes, I’m proud to be a white Christian American of European descent. I’m also proud to be part of Western civilization; the civilization that has turned the world from a dark and deadly place to a world where hope, freedom and opportunity is within reach for the most people since the beginning of civilization. I’m also extremely proud of our Founding Fathers, slave ownership notwithstanding. If this somehow makes me a racist, then so be it.
P.S. The program also portrayed Washington as an uneducated gold-digger who married for money, a man that coveted another man’s wife, and a bad tactician as a general. The only thing they didn’t do was to add a pair of red horns to his image.

They SAY they are anti-racist. What they are is anti-White. Anti-racist is a code word for anti-White.
No one says a country that is 100% Black needs more diversity.
No one says a country that is 100% Asian needs more diversity.
They are already 100% diverse.
All White countries and only White countries always need to be more diverse. White countries only stop needing to be more diverse when there are no White people left in them.
Diversity is a codeword for White geNOcide.
Anti-racist is a code word for anti-White.

Right! And because America was one of the world’s last settled territories it means that we’re eternally a nation of immigrants and therefore everyone in the world has a right to come here. If allowed, at least 80% of the world would come here. But if that happened the benefits of being here would no longer exist, so go figure.
Pierre:
I keep hearing how Hispanics are the fastest growing demographic, but nobody cares to ask why. Can it be because Mexico is at our southern border with Central and South America next in line? If Hispanics are such a fast growing demographic, why is that fair? What about all the other ethnic groups that want to come here? The dirty little open secret is that Hispanics are the fastest growing demographic because of illegal immigration. Take all of the illegals that came here over the past 30 or so years, then take into account their children and grandchildren. You now have tens of millions of people here that had no right to be here in the first place. But then again, it seems like both political parties are not only ok with this, but also complicit in it.
