The Drudge report has linked to a story from McClatchy.com which highlights the ignorance of the typical Obama voter. The article claims that many people are “struggling to understand how — and when — the sweeping measure will affect them.”

In other words, these morons actually believed that their savior, Obama, was going to give them free healthcare. The pathetic zombies don’t understand that most of the provisions of Obamacare won’t go into effect until 2014 – and even then it won’t be free.

The “free” part won’t start until all of the private health insurance companies are put out of business; which is the goal of the recently passed healthcare reform bill. Even when this happens, it really won’t be “free” – at least not to working people who pay taxes. What many of the ignoramuses who voted for Obama don’t understand is the fact that Socialism is funded by wealth redistribution in the form of heavy taxation.

These imbeciles should ask working people in Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Denmark, and France what their tax rates are. These people are taxed to the point where they have very little disposable income left after their Nanny State government gets through with them.

Nothing in this world is free! Only fools don’t realize this basic fact of life.

Speaking of fools, one person who must really be disappointed is the infamous Peggy Joseph, who believed that Obama would also pay for her mortgage and gasoline.

I don’t mean to pick on poor Ms. Joseph, (yes I do) but she so beautifully represents a large portion of the idiots who voted for Obama. The unfortunate thing is that 99.5% of these people will still loyally and blindly support him regardless of what transpires in the real world. Today I happened to see a link on the Drudge Report to WARL.Com in North Carolina. The story was titled Having insurance ‘going to be like Christmas.’

The story featured brain-dead or brain-washed reporters interviewing ignorant dummies about the passage of the healthcare reform bill. Read full story here.

The first person featured in the story was a man named DeCarlo Flythe, who showed both his excitement and ignorance in regards to the healthcare bill by saying “It’s going to be like Christmas.” Flythe who is said to have lost health coverage for his family three years ago when he was laid off from his job also said “It’s going to be great. You know, no worries (about) the bills. We are going to go ahead and pay our co-pay and be alright.”

This guy sounds a lot like the infamous, Peggy Joseph.

Maybe the dumbass reporter should have informed Mr. Flythe that the reform won’t really go into effect until 2014. Oh yeah, I forgot; it’s not the reporters job to correct assertions made by people they are interviewing – right? More on that a little later.

Does Mr. Flythe realize that the legislation that passed is not a “free” government-run single-payer system – at least not yet? Until then, Mr. Flythe will be forced to buy health insurance from an insurance company, and pay the premiums that go along with that. Only when the private insurance companies are totally wiped out by this legisilation will Mr. Flythe have what he seems to believe he now has.

Another sob-story case featured in the piece was about a man named Norman Rucker, who claimed that he hadn’t had health insurance for the past ten years because his employers didn’t offer any.

Mr. Rucker went on to say the following: “I’m not a person who gets sick a lot, so I didn’t think I’d need any medicine.” Rucker said that he racked up about $100,000 in hospital bills over that period by going to the emergency room whenever he needed care. “I’m trying to pay them off. Collection agencies call me all the time,” he said.

What the hell?

Not a person who gets sick a lot? Ten thousand dollars per year on emergency room visits? I’d love to hear what Mr. Rucker’s idea of a hypochondriac is.

Mr. Rucker ended the interview with this tear-jerking quote: “It’ll make the world better. It’ll make us all better, actually.”

Both Mr. Flythe and Mr. Rucker were patients at the Walltown Clinic in Durham, North Carolina. According to WARL.Com, the clinic is a joint program of Duke University and Lincoln Community Health Center that serves the low-income neighborhoods near Duke’s campus. The clinic serves 3,000 to 4,000 patients a year – 80 percent don’t have health insurance – and charges co-pays based on what patients can afford.

Wait a minute; the impression that I got from the story was that Mr. Flythe and Mr. Rucker didn’t have any health insurance, and therefore had no healthcare. Silly me! I guess it’s just that the two men somehow believe that government mandated, or government run insurance would be better than the care they’re now getting from the Walltown Clinic, or the care that they could probably already receive from Medicaid. Mr. Flythe & Mr. Rucker are evidently true believers in the God of Big Government.

Now back to the reporters who brought us this heartwarming story of hope. Earlier in the post I rhetorically asked why the reporters didn’t attempt to correct the obvious misconceptions of the people they were interviewing.

I confess that I realize full well that reporters only correct and challenge the people they are covering when the people happen to be Conservatives/Republicans.

The fact is that WRAL purposely went to a location where they knew that the reaction to the healthcare reform bill would be positive. They don’t care if they make the pawns that they’re using to push their agenda look like ignorant buffoons. The media will now take it upon themselves to hit the road and report on phony stories about the huge success of the Obama healthcare legislation. I predict that you’ll soon see polls that will show how people are supposedly very happy with the new system and that they now have improved healthcare. The truth matters little to the propagandists in the media, and the Socialists, Marxists, Progressives, and Communists in the Democrat Party and in the White House.

This whole healthcare fiasco was filled with dirty backroom deals, intimidation, lies, and taxpayer funded bribes. It finally culminated with Bart Stupid…I mean Stupak and his phony pro-life coalition caving in to Pelosi and Obama. The supposedly ‘honorable’ Stupak basically sold out his pro-life constituents on a promise from the biggest liar to ever be elected president. In reality it mattered little; Stupak is a left-wing Democrat who has won elections in his predominantly Catholic district by posing as a pro-lifer. Stupak couldn’t wait for an excuse to vote for this horrendous bill.

To those millions of pathetic sheep who supported this outrageous legislation, I have a few simple questions:

• Besides the propaganda from Pelosi, Reid, and Obama, do you really know exactly what’s in this bill? Of course you don’t! Nobody but a hand full of people actually do.

• Do you understand that most of the provisions in this bill won’t take effect until 2014? You will however begin to pay the cost for the program immediately.

• Do you understand that this bill doesn’t create the government single-payer system that most of you morons crave? It’s a starting point, but you’ll still have to pay premiums to insurance companies for the near foreseeable future.

• Do you actually believe that the passage of this bill will give you free unlimited healthcare for whatever you need? Government bureaucrats will decide if you’re worthy or qualified to receive certain treatments or medications.

• Do you realize that the government will force you to buy insurance for yourself and your family? If you don’t comply, you’ll be fined and/or imprisoned.

• Do you realize that the IRS will be in charge of making sure that you purchase the government mandated insurance? You will have to prove it on your tax returns.
•  Is this the healthcare reform that you thought you were going to get from Obama – the healthcare reform he promised?

It’s really hard to believe that any sane person could actually believe that this travesty has anything to do with true healthcare reform. There are basically three types of people who supported this outrageous legislation.

They are:

1. The true believers in the federal government, academia, and media. By true believers I mean the Statists, Progressives, Marxists, Communists, and Socialists who have been waiting a lifetime to impose some sort of national healthcare system that will eventually lead to Cuban style single-payer healthcare.
2. The leeches and parasites of society who believe that the government and their fellow citizens owe them whatever they need – for free. These are the losers who have no drive, no ambition, no dreams, and no self respect. They’re quite happy being perpetual wards of the state.
3. The ignorant Obama supporters who don’t really know why they believe what they claim they do, besides that their teachers, college professors, favorite musicians and actors tell them that they should. Many of these idiots are supposedly “educated” youngish professionals who’ll wind up losing their top-shelf company paid health benefits and wind up with massive tax increases just so they could feel good about themselves.

Hopefully this issue will not be settled by yesterday’s phony vote in the House of Representatives. It may well be challenged on constitutional grounds; the question being does the federal government have the right to force citizens to purchase a product? Attorney generals in 14 states have already said that they intend to sue the federal government over this issue. Then of course, there’s the midterm elections coming up in November.

For the time being, this is a huge victory for the far-left. They believe that they can set the wheels into motion and start building an infrastructure that will be difficult to reverse regardless of who wins future elections. Emboldened by yesterday’s victory, they will attempt to shove more unwanted crap sandwiches down our throats before November’s election. They will focus on a couple of other nation-changing pieces of legislation – Cap and Trade and Comprehensive Immigration Reform.

If Obama and the Democrts can accomplish with these two issues what they just accomplished with healthcare, America as we know it will cease to exist. Unlike the millions of people who fled to our great land over the years to escape oppression, we will have no place to run.

The show was extremely informative in more ways than one. It was fascinating and refreshing to hear real-world medical doctors discussing healthcare legislation. It was a particularly telling moment when Glenn Beck asked the participants to raise their hands if they support Obama-care legislation; only the medical students raised their hands! This highlights the political indoctrination which “higher education” students have been exposed to over the past 10 to 15 years. It was also interesting to hear these medical students spill out Liberal talking points when asked to explain their positions, as opposed to the doctors who have been in the medical profession for decades speak of the intricacies of running a practice and the obstacles they face in treating their patients.

I came away from this show very impressed with most of the doctors and their knowledge of the horrific legislation that’s currently being pushed by the Congressional Democrats and the Obama Administration. These doctors want nothing more than to give their patients the best care possible while also being allowed to make the kind of living they have worked so hard to deserve. I also came away with a feeling of dread for the future of our country in regards to the political indoctrination that goes on in our education system from kindergarten all the way through graduate school. Those medical students in Glenn Beck’s studio came across as pathetic programmed robots in contrast to the intelligence of the seasoned doctors who evidently went to medical school when they actually taught medicine.

The Glenn Beck Show is usually replayed over the weekend. I urge everyone interested in healthcare reform and the future of our country to find a way to watch this show. It will definitely open your eyes!

Besides being an outstanding doctor, Dr. Hoffman also has an astute understanding of real world issues and politics. Although Health Talk is far from a political talk show, Dr. Hoffman isn’t afraid to speak out on subjects dealing with the world of health and medicine.

Over the past several months, Dr. Hoffman has saw fit to dedicate entire programs to the issue of national healthcare/socialized medicine/single-payer healthcare/Obama-care, or whatever you care to call it. He’s had medical scholar and patient advocate Betsy McCaughey on his show to discuss and dissect the healthcare reform proposals in congress. Ms. McCaughey may very well be the only person in the country who has read the entire bill! Needless to say, she is unequivocally against the Obama-care bill that is now so hotly being debated throughout the country.

On Monday, (8/24) Dr. Hoffman had another guest on his program to discuss this highly controversial issue. This time, the guest was another integrative physician by the name of Kent Holtorf who heads the Holtorf Medical Group in California. Dr. Holtorf and Dr. Hoffman both believe that “nationalizing” healthcare would be very damaging to the country as well as to the health of the American people.

It was so refreshing listening to actual practicing physicians talking about this issue instead of the lawyers in congress and their hacks in the media. Why is it that people who graduate from law school, and are then elected to public office, all of a sudden believe that they’re experts in everything from the auto industry to medicine? Notice that most of these lawyers aren’t interested in tort reform as part of the comprehensive reform that they endorse.

Dr. Holtorf runs a fairly unique practice in the sense that he doesn’t accept any insurance or Medicare payments. In the medical community, it’s called being “off the grid.” Gee, what a novel idea; people actually paying out of pocket for services rendered! Before some of you go into cardiac arrest over this, Dr. Holtorf believes that everyone should carry “catastrophic” coverage insurance. These policies have a high deductable and are therefore very affordable. Like many conservatives and libertarians, Dr. Holtorf believes that the ever rising costs of healthcare can be relieved by free market solutions. He believes that good ole fashioned competition is lacking in our current healthcare system, and this problem would only be exasperated by a “public option” system.

Unlike the one-trick-ponies in the Obama administration, Dr. Holtorf has alternative solutions to America’s healthcare “crisis.” For instance, he believes that if an employer pays $500 per month for an employee’s healthcare, it would be more cost effective to spend $100 per month for a catastrophic care policy, and then offer the extra $400 directly to the employee in a medical savings account. The $400 would be used to cover basic healthcare expenditures such as office visits. One of the key elements of a medical savings account is that the holder of the account gets to roll over the unused money at the end of the year, or even perhaps keep a percentage of it. This would entice people to “shop around” for the most cost-effective healthcare. When people are actually spending cash on healthcare that can eventually be theirs to keep, they’re much less likely to visit the doctor every time they have a runny nose. They’re also much more likely to try harder to remain healthy in the first place.

Not being a politician with an agenda, Dr. Holtorf also discussed some of the problems with medical savings accounts when they’ve been tried. He claims that hospitals, labs, and doctors were charging five to ten times more for procedures if a person had a medical savings account; in other words, paying in cash. They do this in order to recoup the losses they incur from insurance company and federal government payments. Dr. Holtorf believes that simple legislation would be needed in order to fix this problem. He suggested passing laws that would require doctors, hospitals and labs to post their rates much like food prices in a supermarket. He also suggested that much like buying gasoline, cash payments should always carry the lowest fee. One of the main reasons that our healthcare costs are out of control is the fact that most natural free-market forces are missing from the system.

Medical savings accounts are not the cure-all for the healthcare system. They are most beneficial for younger and healthier people who have no chronic illnesses. However, they can and should be part of a more comprehensive free-market based solution. Why destroy the whole system when all you need are some creative ideas along with some targeted legislation to address the problems in the current system?

Both Dr. Holtorf and Dr. Hoffman agree that the current insurance based system is a very inefficient way to administer healthcare. However, they both also agree that a government bureaucracy taking the place of the insurance companies would be a far worse system for both doctors and patients.

If President Obama and the Democrats were really serious about healthcare reform, they would seek out the input of the people who are on the front lines of the healthcare system.

Call me crazy, but when it comes to addressing healthcare issues, I have a lot more confidence in people like Dr. Hoffman and Dr. Holtorf than I do in Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Henry Waxman, and Barack Obama. But hey – that’s just me!

In the mad rush to socialize the United States of America, the Obama administration and the left-wing Democrats have managed to push nation changing legislation through congress at record pace. First there was the disastrous “stimulus bill” – followed by the takeover of banks and the auto industry. There was also the farce known as “Cap and Trade” which barely passed the house with the help of 7 pusillanimous Republicans.

Now with the slimy Democrats rushing to nationalize the best healthcare in the world, the American people have finally drawn a line in the sand and are saying not so fast!

Town hall meeting after town hall meeting, Americans from all political parties have begun confronting their elected officials with hard questions about this supposed “healthcare reform.” Many of these Americans are angry with the arrogance and stupidity of the political ruling class. Americans are fed up that people like the two-faced Arlen Specter don’t seem to think that reading a bill before voting on it is that important. These people not only came to these meetings angry, but they came prepared with a politician’s worst nightmare – the cold hard facts!

Predictably, the Democrat Statists are now going on the offensive against the very people who they claim to represent.

Over the last few days, these citizens have been called every name in the book by Democrat leaders and their long standing allies in the mainstream media. The vile Nancy Pelosi called them Nazis! The DNC (Democratic National Committee for all you Obama supporters) compared these citizens to an “angry mob.” Other Democrats and their media shills have claimed that these people are being organized, and that they’re just a bunch of sheep following the marching orders of people like the satanic Rush Limbaugh.

I remember my late grandfather often telling me “Peter, don’t ever get old.” If Obama’s socialized healthcare is ever passed into law, the whole country had better follow my grandfather’s advice because the “golden years” won’t be so golden anymore.

It’s always been the standard MO for the left-wing to lie about their intentions and about who they really are. However, they do occasionally slip up and let some truth trickle out.

Obama let slip his attitude towards healthcare for the elderly when he answered a question from a woman during ABC’s healthcare propaganda special from the White House on June the 24^th. The question was asked by Jane Strum about the effects of Obama’s plan on senior citizens like her 105 year old mother. Many of you have probably seen this video, but it’s worth watching again.

What can you say about that attitude except that it should scare the bejesus out of every senior citizen in the country? If Obama were in charge of healthcare when this woman was 100, she would most probably not be alive today!

If that’s not bad enough, the Democrat House of Representatives healthcare bill (HR 3200) calls for “end of life counseling” for people beginning at age 65 and then every five years after that until you finally get out of the way and die. The way I see it, some federal government bureaucrat would visit you and try to “counsel” you into signing a (DNR) do not resuscitate order so the government won’t have to spend precious resources in order to keep you alive if and when you become very sick at the “end of your life.” It has been established that most of the healthcare money spent on seniors is spent during the last two years of their lives.

There is no mystery in regards to the effects of nationalized or socialized medicine on the personal healthcare of senior citizens. The history is all there; in Great Britain and Canada people of a certain age have long been denied certain medical procedures. Many of these seniors who have the financial wherewithal, come to the United States to receive life-saving treatment denied to them by their benevolent governments.

I wonder if American seniors will finally wake up to realize what’s going on, and take notice of who is proposing all of these sick plans. For many years, senior citizens have been useful idiots for the statists in the Democrat Party. Whenever an election is too close for comfort, the Democrats start running commercials claiming that the Republicans want to abolish Social Security and Medicare. Obama even used the scare tactic late in his campaign against senior citizen John McCain. Up until now, most senior citizens have fallen for this lie hook, line, and sinker. It’s time for senior citizens to step up to the plate and stop being lackeys for the Democrat Party. It’s time for the liberal AARP to put politics and ideology aside and start telling seniors the truth about who wants to ration their healthcare.

I guess it’s probably hard for many seniors to fathom that to Obama and many Democrats, they are nothing but a financial liability. The quicker they kick the bucket, the more resources it frees up for all of the other expensive social programs they want to fund.

It’s unfortunate that many Americans still don’t understand the simple fact that when Big Government gives you everything, they can take away anything.

The Senate Majority Liar, Harry Reid and the Liar in Chief of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama are at it once again. They’re out in front of the pathetic news media doing what they do best – lying!

Both of these professional fibbers have been out today telling anyone who’ll listen that the Republicans are blocking “healthcare reform.”

Lets start with the pathetic Harry Reid who will hopefully be shown the door by the citizens of Nevada in 2010. This pathological liar had the following to say about the impending defeat of the disastrous Healthcare Reform Bill being pushed by Obama and his Democrat servants in the United States Congress.

“On something as important as health care you would think people would be interested in working together, Republicans aren’t interested in working with Democrats. That’s pretty clear.”

He also said: “The party of no is hoping that we trip and fall.”

Hey Pinocchio, you have a freakin’ filibuster proof majority in the Senate! You don’t need one damn Republican vote to pass anything! In fact, you have several putrid Republican Liberals who often vote with you! You have no excuses whatsoever – you stupid jackass!

Not to be outdone by anyone when it comes to demagoguing, Barack Hussein Obama made the following outrageous statements in regards to the sputtering Healthcare Reform Bill.

The Liar-in-Chief said the following:

“Republicans have openly declared their intention to block healthcare reform.”

Yes Mr. President, maybe some of the wise Republicans do want to block your version of healthcare reform, but the cold hard fact is that they don’t have the power to do so!

He then continued to lie about the House Healthcare Reform Bill. Obama claims that the bill would allow people to keep their private insurance, when in fact; it specifically calls for phasing out non-government plans.

I guess that Reid and Obama are just pandering to their base consisting of ignorant losers. These people don’t know anything and don’t care about anything as long as they get a slice of that government cheese that the Liberal Democrats love to hand out at our expense. Unfortunately for Obama and the Democrats, many Americans are finally beginning to see the light. The latest polls are turning against both Obama and the Congressional Democrats. In fact, the almighty savior is less popular now than George W. Bush was at this time in his presidency!  

I don’t really blame Harry Reid and Barack Hussein Obama; things are starting to get tough for them and their left-wing agenda. In such a case, the only thing you can do is play to your strengths.

In their case, it means lying through their teeth!

SCHIP is just another Federal Welfare program that gives medical coverage to “children” as old as their mid-twenties, whose families make up to $82,600. SCHIP was originally created to insure children whose families are too “wealthy” to be eligible for Medicaid, yet still have difficulty getting health insurance. Like all federal entitlement programs, the SCHIP program continues to grow and expand at a pace only rivaled by Rosie O’Donnell’s waistline.

As usual, the politicians in Washington speak out of two orifices when touting this new tax on cigarettes. Out of their North Orifice – they tell us that we need to expand SCHIP so more children and twenty-somethings can get health coverage. Out of their South Orifice - they tell us that the tax will hopefully push the price of cigarettes to the point where smokers will have to kick the habit.

 Which one is it?

These two stated goals of the cigarette tax increase are diametrical opposites of each other. If the tax makes more people stop smoking, the SCHIP program will lose funding, and children will not be able to get healthcare. Boo–Hoo. The dirty little secret is that the greasy politicians don’t want smokers to stop – they just want them to pay more taxes!

If just 30% of smokers would quit cold turkey, the federal, state, and local governments would be left scrambling to make up for the lost revenue. They would then look for other things to tax; things like alcoholic beverages, sweets, fast-food, and soda. In 2009 America, our government will not accept the loss of tax revenue. If revenue is lost from one area, another area will be targeted for tax increases!

So for all of you anti-smoking, anti-personal freedom Nazis who support big government; you should be on your knees kissing the butts of cigarette smokers. They are not only funding healthcare for children and other social programs, but they are saving you from paying higher taxes on all of your “sinful” and unhealthy habits. Better yet – if you have children that you can’t take care of, and have to rely on taxpayer funded healthcare; maybe you should chip-in once in a while  and buy a pack of Marlboros – then give them to your neighborhood smoker as a token of your appreciation.

I received comments from a couple of blokes from England and New Zealand, (Peter & Miles) who told me that I was misguided about “socialized medicine.” Their arguments however, were focused on the fact that national healthcare in their respective countries allows people who can afford it, to go out of the system and pay for their own healthcare.

I didn’t take long for my worries to be vindicated! Sorry mates, but I guess that my fears aren’t so misguided after all.

Betsy McCaughey, former lieutenant governor of New York and one of the first people to blow the whistle on Hillary-Care, and now an adjunct senior fellow at the Hudson Institute, released a paper warning of health-care rationing that is part of health-care legislation that is embedded in the buy-the-vote democrat stimulus package. It seems that the libs are trying to pull a fast one and slip their dream of universal health-care into the stimulus bill.

According to McCaughey, senior citizens would bare the brunt of the rationing! That can’t be!!! We all know that the Liberal Democrats are the guardian angels of the senior citizen, vigilantly protecting them from the Social Security and Medicare cuts proposed by the evil republicans.

McCaughey actually sites none other than Tom Daschle, you know, Obama’s choice for Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, who had to withdraw from nomination because he was exposed as a tax cheat. Anyway, McCaughey quotes Daschle as saying “healthcare reform will not be pain free” and that “seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them.”

How do you like them apples AARP?

In Daschle’s book, titled; Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis, Daschle praises Europeans for being more accepting of “hopeless diagnoses” and for forgoing “experimental treatments.” He goes on to say that Americans expect too much from their health-care system.

We all knew that the Obama administration coupled with huge Democrat majorities in the Congress would bring up, and ram through “universal health-care” legislation as soon as they could, but to try to jump-start it by sneaking it into an economic “stimulus” bill is outrageous and insulting to the American public.

Why not debate “universal health-care” out in the open, where people can get a chance to actually hear what the proposals are? Instead, Obama and the Democrats try to hide it in a 1588 page “stimulus” bill! I thought that the country voted for change, for a new “transparency” in Washington. If the whole country agrees with Obama and the Democrats, why then, all the stealth maneuvers?

It’s pretty clear to me and other people who actually have a brain, that “universal health-care” or “nationalized health-care” or “single-payer health-care” or “Daschle-care” or whatever else the hell you want to call it would be a total disaster for our country, and especially for the old and sick – if you’re young and healthy, you’ll probably be OK!

Therefore, my second opinion is still; Prognosis Negative……………..
