I haven’t been able to write much on this subject because I’m becoming so numb to these types of idiots that I deal with on a daily basis – and also because I’m being a bit lazy. I’m really not at all surprised that this happened. I’ve been warning anyone who would listen that NYC is slowly but steadily creeping back towards the dangerous pre-Giuliani era. One of the reasons, I believe, is that over the last several years “quality of life” offences are not being pursued as they were when Giuliani was mayor.

Our current mayor, Michael Bloomberg, has shown himself to be a nanny state leftist who cares far more about what people eat than he does about enforcing the laws of NYC. The only time Bloomberg addresses crime is when he goes after all the handguns that miraculously grow legs and hit the streets looking for victims. Predictably, Bloomberg has used this rampage to push for even more gun control – what else?

As we all know, these punks doing the shooting would be off volunteering at soup kitchens if it weren’t for the influence of their evil handguns.

It’s also valid to note that most if not all of the perpetrators and victims of the 67 shootings were black. In spite of what the media wants to tell us, or not tell us, there’s a growing epidemic of black crime affecting far too many large American cities. Violent black flash mobs attacking white people and looting retail shops has been a common occurrence during the summer of 2011.

I wonder if this all part of the “hope & change” that Obama promised in 2008.

Having lived in NYC for so long, I’m heavily tuned in to what’s going on around me. There is a vibe in the air that hasn’t been here for quite some time – and I don’t like it! It’s bad enough that it’s nearly impossible for a NYC resident to get a pistol permit, but it’s also against the law to carry pepper spray/mace, blackjacks, stun-guns, batons, and most all other self-defense weapons. No problem though. You can always ask the violent thug for a time-out while you press 911 on your cell phone.

The report showed these students holding signs and chanting slogans in opposition to Mayor Bloomberg’s budget cuts. The blissfully ignorant students really seemed to be enjoying themselves; protesting something they know little to nothing about is probably a lot more fun than their everyday schoolwork.

So far, New York 1 hasn’t posted this story and video on their website. If and when they do, I’ll link to it.

This story further highlights the sickening trend of using young students as political pawns. It goes without saying that this tactic is used exclusively by the Left. They fill the student’s still undeveloped brains with left-wing propaganda, and then send them out in front of their MSM allies. How cute!

The proposed budget cuts would close down some Queens libraries, supposedly cause the lay-offs of approximately 500 library workers, and cause other local libraries to close down on Saturdays. Boo freakin hoo!

We’re supposed to believe that these students spend their Saturdays in the library? Give me a break already! Predominantly, most public libraries are filled with adults and senior citizens who have a lot of free time on their hands and nothing much to do. They are also a place where losers go and use the computers to surf the internet for God knows what. If I were to guess, I would say that over 95% of NYC public school kids have a computer in their home. The claim that these students need the library, especially on Saturdays, in order to complete their schoolwork is a crock of dog manure.

As usual, it’s not solely about the children, as the leftists claim. It never really is. Rather, it’s about the public employees and their unions. It’s about power; about keeping the public sector (government) as big and fat as possible. Indoctrinating students to insure that they grow up to be well behaved robots who will march to the orders of their Marxist masters is just an added bonus.

I can only hope and pray that the rest of the country isn’t like NYC. If it is, the United States as we know it will soon cease to exist.

Billionaire Bloomberg has got to be one of the stupidest people in New York City – and that’s saying a lot! The New York Post reported yesterday on Mayor Bloomberg’s appearance this past Sunday on NBC’s Meet the Press. During the broadcast Bloomberg gave a national audience a taste of his buffoonery when he suggested that “immigrants,” or in other words, illegal immigrants, could be the answer to rebuilding the city of Detroit.

To even assume that Detroit can possibly be rebuilt is a pretty stupid assertion to begin with. Just kidding!

The billionaire simpleton said the following:

First of all, to just cavalierly suggest handing over a major American city to a foreign entity is just plain sick. I understand that progressives like Bloomberg look at American sovereignty with disdain, but I’ve yet to hear even George Soros propose something so bold.

The statement is also tinged with what would probably be characterized as subtle racism if spoken by the wrong person. What is Detroit but the epitome of a modern day black (chocolate) city?  According to Bloomberg, Mexicans can do what American blacks are either incapable or unwilling to do. Even if there’s some truth to that assertion, can anyone imagine the consequences of a statement like that coming from a conservative? Bloomberg is either too stupid to realize that he’s uttering something so politically incorrect, or he knows that his political leanings immunize him from criticism. Given the fact that Michael Bloomberg is neither bright nor courageous, I tend to go with that he’s too stupid to realize what he’s saying.

Imagine a Republican saying that Detroit should be  handed over to Polish or Russian immigrants in order to start businesses and rebuild the city. Disturbing images of Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson immediately come to mind!

Bloomberg gets a pass from the leftist media because they recognize him as one of their own. In other words, Bloomberg is just another run-of-the-mill left-wing liberal hypocrite. He speaks the language of the Marxists, but lives the lifestyle of a decadent capitalist.

Like many extremely wealthy people, Mr. Bloomberg may be “smart” in the particular field that made him a billionaire, but he’s a total moron in regards to everything else. Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, and Steven Spielberg also come to mind in that respect.

Instead of handing over Detroit to illegal immigrants, I got a better idea Mr. Bloomberg. Why not import poor immigrants to live in the Hamptons and on the Upper East Side of Manhattan? Why? Because by Leftist standards, those areas are sorely in need of some diversity!

I have never understood how people can blind themselves to reality in order to rationalize their political ideologies. Of course, it doesn’t help when you have a corrupt mainstream media that refuses to even come close to linking the exploding price of fuel to the failed administration of Barack Hussein Obama. This is the same media that was up George Bush’s tukus when gasoline prices hit the $2 mark. Now it’s nobody’s fault! Can you believe the average price per gallon on January 11^th(3 months ago) was $3.12 and the price of crude oil was $91.53 per barrel compared to the current $3.76 and $109?

Of course, New Yorkers always have the privilege of paying more; gasoline prices are already over $4 and will easily reach the $5 mark by Memorial Day.

While many of my fellow New Yorkers know how to bitch and complain, they don’t know how to take responsibility for the asinine decisions they constantly make in the voting booth. Oh well, what else is new?

Libertarian political satirist P.J. O’Rourke recently penned a thought provoking article on wsj.com titled Dear Urban Cyclist: Go Play in Traffic. I initially found this story through a link on The Evil Conservative website. I happen to wholeheartedly share Mr. O’Rourke’s views on the ever expanding role that these two-wheeled menaces play in current big city life.

In a city full of entitlements, NYC’s bike riders seem to have moved to the top of the pecking order. As Mr. O’Rourke points out, NYC has been painted silly with bike lanes over the past several years. Many of these bike lanes have narrowed the ever shrinking driving lanes for motorists, as well as eliminating more of the already endangered species known as NYC parking spaces. On an industrial stretch of road that runs through my Northwestern Queens neighborhood, one whole side of the street is now a no-parking zone due to the installation of a bike lane. Again, this is an industrial area (warehouses, etc.) where many people thankfully still have jobs. These stupid bike lanes have now made it that much harder for hundreds of people to come to work. Oh that’s right; I guess they should ride their bikes to work. Question: Do they make snow tires or tire chains for bikes now?

Before I go any further, I want to say that I’m in no way against the use of bicycles for recreational/sports use. Bike riding is a great family activity for suburban dwellers, as well as a very challenging competitive sport. I too have enjoyed riding on bike trails and in parks. My problem with bikes is their irresponsible and often dangerous use in urban settings, and with the green movement which they have come to represent. In other words, it’s the rider, not the bicycle.

I can’t really speak for the rest of the country, or even the rest of NY State, but the main problem with bike lanes in the five boroughs of NYC is the fact that bike riders rarely if ever use them. Instead, bike riders seem to believe they’re exempt from most of the traffic and pedestrian laws that the rest of us have to follow. They ride on busy sidewalks. They ride the wrong way on one-way streets. They rarely stop for red lights or on stop signs (except when there’s an imminent danger to their own safety). And, they take up precious space on crowded subway cars while paying the same fare as single riders! Basically, bikes have free run of the entire city.

The most dangerous of these transgressions is riding up on busy sidewalks. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve come within inches of being struck by some a-hole on a bike while just walking on the sidewalk minding my business. One step to the left or one step to the right can land you in the intensive care unit when a moron on a bike is bearing down on you from behind.

Many of the two wheeled menaces in NYC are delivery people for local bodegas, and take-out Chinese food joints. These people are often under pressure to make deliveries as quick as possible; often riding recklessly through pedestrian and automobile traffic. The danger from these delivery people (besides that they’re predominantly illegal aliens) has recently escalated due to the sudden arrival of electric or “green bikes” that many establishments have begun to use throughout NYC. These bikes take most of the physical strain off the delivery man, but put the rest of us in greater danger than ever. The electric bikes are much heavier than the traditional human powered bike; they are faster than the traditional human powered bike; and they are deadly silent. You cannot hear these bikes bearing down on you! It’s only a matter of time before someone is seriously hurt or killed by one of them.

Although the bike delivery people are probably more dangerous, it’s the casual “save the planet” liberal yuppies and bohemians that are more irritating. Like the pious Prius driver, these buffoons feel entitled to the road because they’re morally superior to the evil combustion engine user. What spurs their equal disdain for pedestrians is another question altogether. Just as children instinctively know when they are the parent’s favorite, and act accordingly, bike riders also instinctively understand that they are the chosen ones of our politically correct establishment – the quintessential teacher’s pets.

There’s no doubt that the progressive establishment is slowly but surely attempting to discourage citizens from using the automobile. This is being done through the discredited pseudo-science of climate change or global warming. To convince those of us who reject Al Gore’s teachings, they do everything they can to prevent energy exploration and production here at home in order to eventually make driving an extremely expensive activity reserved for the wealthy elite.

The bicycle as the main mode of transportation in the United States of America is a very disturbing scenario to those of us who still hold on to the belief of American exceptionalism. America’s major cities looking like Shanghai or Ho Chi Minh City? If you believe I’m overreacting, I suggest you read about the EU’s (European Union, for all you Obama voters) plan to ban cars from all EU cities by 2050. Read one example here.

The day I see Hillary Clinton or Michelle Obama riding through the streets of New York on their extra-wide seat bicycles is the day I join the movement. Until then, leave me alone and keep your stupid bikes off my sidewalks and out of my face!

According to New York City cable news channel NY1, the borough of Queens has gained only 1,300 residents since the last census in 2000. I realize that the census isn’t supposed to take illegal aliens into account, but they alone have increased the Queens population by at least ten times that much (130,000) over the past decade. Even our idiotic local politicians are scratching their hollow heads over this report.

Illegal invaders aside, the 1,300 total is still a joke. My area of Northwestern Queens is almost unrecognizable from the year 2000. There must be 1,300 alone in the new building up the block from me. The same freakin building whose construction made the last two years hell for me – noise wise.

Although the neighborhood has changed drastically from the one I grew up in, all-in-all I welcome the throngs of youngish professionals (even though most are brainless libs) that have been moving here from all over the country. These new people along with the high-end development needed to house them have kept rents and property values pretty high, and thus saved this great part of NYC from further deterioration.

This report just reinforces what I already knew to be fact. The current system for taking the U.S. census is a pathetic exercise in futility.

Where do I start?

I shouldn’t be surprised that the vast majority of New Yorkers are quasi-Marxists, but I still can’t seem to get used to their arrogance and ignorance.

First of all:

Should we shop for our fishes at the local fish market too?

Then:

Gee, what a coincidence that this happens to be a hardware store. How freakin self-serving and shameless! Why not just kneel in front of the store and beg people to come in?

And:

That’s rich coming from a rinky-dink establishment that probably employs a grand total of two people – probably both illegal aliens. In fact, there was a sign on the same store not long ago that read: Part-time help wanted, must speak Spanish. This self-righteous buffoon doesn’t seem to have a problem with excluding local Whites, Blacks, and others who don’t happen to speak Spanish. In other words, the welcome mat is out for illegal immigrants.

Like them or not, Mega Stores and Supermarkets employ millions of people nation wide. What would hurt the local economy more, this clown closing up his store, or the local Home Depot closing down theirs? And Supermarkets? This arrogant little commie actually believes that we should all pay more and spend triple the time shopping by going to various small markets instead of the supermarket. I don’t know about anyone else, but I shop for convenience, price, and quality. I don’t shop to promote social justice!

Also, I must have missed it when supermarkets also became the enemy of the “little guy.” As with most neighborhoods in NY, there are supermarkets here that have been operating in the same location for decades. In fact, my neighborhood has grown so much that we need more supermarkets. I guess it’s not enough to demonize Walmart anymore; (especially when there isn’t one anywhere near you) now supermarkets are also fair game.

Not only does this ridiculous poster not make any sense, but neither do the Democrats/Socialists/Marxists that run wild in this once great city.

Almost 4 days after the blizzard of 2010 fizzled out, many if not most of the side streets of the “outer boroughs” are still not plowed. To many this is no surprise since our liberal know-it-all mayor, Michael Bloomberg, has yet to find out that there’s a lot more to NYC than the upper east side of Manhattan. He ventures into the outer boroughs every four years or so around election season, but otherwise he stays clear of his lower caste subjects.

It’s been reported in the NY Post that the slow clean-up is a result of a protest by the Department of Sanitation over cuts to their department over the past few years.

Why is it that everyone who works for the government (local, state, & federal) seems to believe that they should be immune from layoffs, firings, and cutbacks? Why should they not feel the effects of a horrific economy and double digit unemployment? Why are they so special?

What would these clowns have to say if a building full of people burned down because emergency vehicles couldn’t get through the street? Those responsible should be immediately terminated!

There are also reports of garbage pilling up around the city because of the snowstorm. Many homes and buildings haven’t had a pick-up for almost a week. I know, I know, the poor sanitation workers are overwhelmed with the task of cleaning up the snow. Boo-freakin-hoo!

My building happens to use a private sanitation company for its trash pick-up; the garbage was already picked up this past Tuesday night – right on schedule. No big deal; just another one of the million examples of the superiority of private enterprise over government run services.

Obviously, New York City hasn’t been the only place buried up to its eyeballs in snow. Record snowfalls are being reported throughout the United States and Europe. It’s times like these that I find it so hard to not play the same simplistically childish games that the liberals do. I find it difficult to control myself from gloating about the lack of global warming we’re currently experiencing.

Speaking of global warming:

There’s a liberal buffoon who works in the local pet supply store where we purchase food, liter, and other things for our British Shorthair, Charlie. More often than not, she forces her stupid liberal talking points on customers when ringing them up. We all know the type. There was a day this past October when the temperature reached into the low seventies; unfortunately, my wife and I were in the store that day purchasing cat food. This miserable wench couldn’t help but mumble ‘yeah right, there’s no such thing as global warming’ while checking us out. If I were as shameless, arrogant, and stupid as she, I would march into the store tomorrow and mumble ‘gee…what happened to global warming?’

Though tempting, I try not to lower myself to their level. The reasons I don’t believe in global warming aren’t based on one day or one season, but on long term scientific data and common sense. The facts all show that the earth’s temperature is decreasing; we are now in a cycle of global cooling – not warming.

Yeah, yeah, I know. Global cooling is caused by global warming. Or is it climate change now? We all know that the climate is never supposed to change. Before man came around with his Cadillac Escalades and central air conditioning the climate was the same since the Big Bang. In fact, we now know that the dinosaurs died because Republican cavemen cut taxes on the rich causing the dinosaurs to die from disease and starvation.

Whatever the cause, there’s nothing like the occasional snowstorm to remind the rest of us how corrupt, inept, and stupid the liberals of NYC really are.

It’s that time once again! Time for classless, tactless, selfish, immature, idiots to drive around the neighborhood at all hours of the night blasting their so-called “music” for all to hear. What a great bunch of humanitarians they are sharing their music with the rest of us. What would we do without them besides sleep better and be more relaxed?

The culprit here seems to be the seemingly never ending “Hip-Hop” craze. My mistake! Hip-Hop is actually a lot more than a craze; it’s a “lifestyle.” I’m not in the least bit afraid to say that it’s a lifestyle that I find both funny and sad. It’s a lifestyle that promotes anti-social thuggish behavior. It’s a lifestyle that its participants don’t seem to enjoy unless they’re able to shove it down everyone’s throat. It’s a lifestyle where walking around with your pants falling off and scowling at everyone you come across is an absolute must. It’s an angry lifestyle lived mostly by young people who should be enjoying their youth. It’s a narcissistic lifestyle where the participants are the center of their own delusional little universe.

I happen to live about 50 feet from a bodega that seems to be a magnet for bad-ass street thugs. If that’s not bad enough, my 250 square foot terrace happens to be right above a water hydrant which is used as a temporary parking spot for the bodega’s high-class clientele. What is both maddening and hilarious is that when these clowns park their cars on the hydrant and go into the bodega, they leave their windows rolled down and their music blasting on maximum volume. What the hell is that all about? Again, Hip-Hop doesn’t seem to be much fun unless you can force it on others.

My wife and I pay very good money to live where we do, but during the summer we are constantly bombarded by other people’s interpretation of music. On a nice day it’s often hard to work outside on our laptop, or to just relax with the constant stream of car radios blaring at ridiculous levels. Very often we can actually feel our couch vibrate from the bass volume from these inconsiderate morons driving down our street.

As if this wasn’t bad enough, a few weeks ago some new tenants moved into the basement apartment of the small tenement directly across the street from us. Unfortunately for us, and for the entire neighborhood, the idiotic landlord rented the space to about 4 or 5 young punks who care about nothing but their “music” and their tough-guy personas. These clowns actually put lawn-chairs out on the sidewalk (how embarrassing) while leaving the door to their basement apartment open so they and everyone else can listen to their Hispanic version of gangsta rap! We wrote a letter to the landlord and they seemed to have lowered their music a little bit, but they still act as if they’re the only people who live in the neighborhood. They often hang out in front of the building on their lounge chairs carrying on until 2:00am – and that’s on weekdays!

There seems to be little we can do besides call New York City’s 311 and make complaints that are immediately thrown in the trash after we hang up the phone. 311 is useless, as those of you who live in NY well know. Last summer I came to a boiling point and went downstairs to confront 5 or 6 low-lives who were blasting music from their parked car for hours. Though the miscreants eventually backed down (they’ll rarely fight unless it’s at least 10 to 1) and turned off the music, I was threatened with getting my throat slit by one of the brave tough guys. For me it’s almost always a no-win situation. The punks could easily pull out a gun and shoot me, or if I put one or two of them in the hospital, I’ll be arrested and they’ll wind up being the victims.

Before you libtards out there start accusing me of racism because I despise the Hip-Hop lifestyle, and because I believe that I’m entitled to some peace and quiet in my own home – take a deep breath! While it’s true that most of the brainless punks that strut their Hip-Hop bonafides in New York City are black and Hispanic, in the suburbs you have the spoiled white kids who proudly carry the Hip-Hop torch. If the punks that make summer miserable in my neighborhood were white, I would react the same way! In fact, if it weren’t for white youth, the Hip-Hop culture would have died years ago. It’s their money that keeps Russell Simmons and Fitty Cents living in mansions. Sorry, bad example; Fitty is already out – he’s 34 years old – he’s old school!

There are many reasons to hate Hip-Hop. The actual music (noise) and the ridiculous wardrobes may be the least of the reasons. It’s my belief that Hip-Hop culture keeps people down; preventing many young people from reaching their potential. It features anger, false bravado, narcissism, and confrontation over optimism, joy, and civility. Although I also despise the “hippy culture” of the 60′s and all of the current liberal assholes it produced, the hippy culture was at least educated and mostly peaceful. (Except for friends of Obama: Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dorn, of course)

I’m usually all for a live and let live philosophy, but noise can quickly cross that fine line. I don’t believe that other people have a right to invade my personal space with their noise. I don’t believe that I should be forced to listen to other people’s music in the confines of my own home. I don’t really expect it on the streets, but in my own home I believe I should be entitled to a reasonable level of peace and quiet. This is a rare instance where I believe more legislation is called for. The Bloomberg administration needs to crack down on noise pollution and the quality of life crimes that have been neglected since Rudy Giuliani left office. I won’t hold my breath! Bloomberg is so PC that he wouldn’t dare support legislation or enforce existing laws that will mostly affect people from the minority community.
