It’s my belief that Hip-Hop culture keeps people down; preventing many young people from reaching their potentials. It features anger, false bravado, narcissism, and confrontation over optimism, joy, and civility. Although I also despise the “hippy culture” of the 60’s and all of the current liberal assholes it produced, the hippy culture was at least educated and mostly peaceful.

It’s definitely summer time in NYC. Not so much because of the 90 degree temperatures and the humidity that makes it feel like you’re breathing under water, but because of the ever increasing noise pollution that drives me (and most civilized people) insane.

It’s that time once again! Time for classless, tactless, selfish, immature, idiots to drive around the neighborhood at all hours of the night blasting their so-called “music” for all to hear. What a great bunch of humanitarians they are sharing their music with the rest of us. What would we do without them besides sleep better and be more relaxed?

The culprit here seems to be the seemingly never ending “Hip-Hop” craze. My mistake! Hip-Hop is actually a lot more than a craze; it’s a “lifestyle.” I’m not in the least bit afraid to say that it’s a lifestyle that I find both funny and sad. It’s a lifestyle that promotes anti-social thuggish behavior. It’s a lifestyle that its participants don’t seem to enjoy unless they’re able to shove it down everyone’s throat. It’s a lifestyle where walking around with your pants falling off and scowling at everyone you come across is an absolute must. It’s an angry lifestyle lived mostly by young people who should be enjoying their youth. It’s a narcissistic lifestyle where the participants are the center of their own delusional little universe.

I happen to live about 50 feet from a bodega that seems to be a magnet for bad-ass street thugs. My 250 square foot terrace happens to be right above a water hydrant which is used as a temporary parking spot for the bodega’s high-class clientele. What is both maddening and hilarious is that when these clowns park their cars on the hydrant and go into the bodega, they leave their windows rolled down and their music blasting on maximum volume. What the hell is that all about? Again, Hip-Hop doesn’t seem to be much fun unless you can force it on others.

My wife and I pay very good money to live where we do, but during the summer we are constantly bombarded by other people’s interpretation of music. On a nice day it’s often hard to work outside on our laptop, or to just relax with the constant stream of car radios blaring at ridiculous levels at all hours of the day. Very often we can actually feel our couch vibrate from the bass volume from these inconsiderate morons driving down our street.

As if this wasn’t bad enough, a few weeks ago some new tenants moved into the basement apartment of the small tenement directly across the street from us. Unfortunately for us, and for the entire neighborhood, the idiotic landlord rented the space to about 4 or 5 young punks who care about nothing but their “music” and their tough-guy personas. These clowns actually put lawn-chairs out on the sidewalk (how embarrassing) while leaving the door to their basement apartment open so they and everyone else can listen to their Hispanic version of gangsta rap! We wrote a letter to the landlord and they seemed to have lowered their music a little bit, but they still act as if they’re the only people who live in the neighborhood. They hang out in front of the building on their lounge chairs carrying on until 2:00am – and that’s on weekdays!

There seems to be little we can do besides call New York City’s 311 and make complaints that are immediately thrown in the trash after we hang up the phone. 311 is useless, as those of you who live in NY well know. Last summer I came to a boiling point and went downstairs to confront 5 or 6 low-lives who were blasting music from their parked car for hours. Though the miscreants eventually backed down (they’ll rarely fight unless it’s at least 10 to 1) and turned off the music, I was threatened with getting my throat slit by one of the brave tough guys. For me it’s almost always a no-win situation. The punks could easily pull out a gun and shoot me, or if I put one or two of them in the hospital, I’ll be arrested and they’ll wind up being the victims.

Before you libtards out there start accusing me of racism because I despise the Hip-Hop lifestyle, and because I believe that I’m entitled to some peace and quiet in my own home – take a deep breath! While it’s true that most of the brainless punks that strut their Hip-Hop bonafides in New York City are black and Hispanic, in the suburbs you have the spoiled white kids who proudly carry the Hip-Hop torch. If the punks that make summer miserable in my neighborhood were white, I would react the same way! In fact, if it weren’t for white youth, the Hip-Hop culture would have died years ago. It’s their money that keeps Russell Simmons and Fitty Cents living in mansions. Sorry, bad example; Fitty is already out – he’s 34 years old – he’s old school!

There are many reasons to hate Hip-Hop. The actual music (noise) and the ridiculous wardrobes may be the least of the reasons. (Except for friends of Obama: Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dorn, of course)

I’m usually all for a live and let live philosophy, but noise can quickly cross that fine line. I don’t believe that other people have a right to invade my personal space with their noise. I don’t believe that I should be forced to listen to other people’s music in the confines of my own home. I don’t really expect it on the streets, but in my own home I believe I should be entitled to a reasonable level of peace and quiet. This is a rare instance where I believe more legislation is called for. The Bloomberg administration needs to crack down on noise pollution and the quality of life crimes that have been neglected since Rudy Giuliani left office. I won’t hold my breath! Bloomberg is so PC that he won’t dare support legislation or enforce existing laws that will mostly affect people from the minority community; that’s how gutless liberal politicians like him think!

This evening my wife and I decided that for dinner we would do a little barbecue on our terrace. We grilled some skirt steak and some good ole American hotdogs that we happened to have laying around in the fridge. We also had a nice bottle of red Chilean wine to go along with this spur of the moment feast.

As is often the case, while I was grilling my wife was playing some of our favorite tunes from our vast collection. After we finished dinner, I began to feel the need for some inspirational patriotic songs. I live daily with the reality of the problems and challenges facing our great country. In order to stay positive and to keep a sense of hope, I often reflect on the things that made this great country what it is. There are a number of songs that really hit the spot when I find myself in this frame of mind.

After attending the rally this Sunday to protest the disgusting plan to build a “super-mosque” on the footsteps of ground zero, this song came to mind. It’s been a while since I listened to it, but the message is as strong as ever.

We will never forget, even though many in our government have. We will never forget, even though the evil cretins who want to build this disgraceful mosque wish we would.

How about you?

Have you forgotten?

If the government truly believes that soda is too dangerous a product to leave to the discretion of parents, they should ban it for use by minors. However, you don’t raise revenue by banning products or behavior; you raise revenue by taxing products and behavior.<

If you live in New York State and believe in freedom and personal responsibility, you probably go crazy when you see this stupid commercial every five seconds.

Click here to view the embedded video.

The commercial is from a group called The Alliance for a Healthier New York. This organization supports a soda tax to supposedly fight childhood obesity and to offset healthcare cuts.

First of all, I don’t think that adding “a few pennies to the cost of sugary drinks” will really stop anyone from drinking them. Sure…..I can splurge on a can of Pepsi for $1.50, but $1.53 is out of the question. Gimme a break!

No one should be fooled by this time tested proposal used by supporters of the Nanny State. Health is never the real issue – raising tax revenue to fund a perpetually growing government is.

The usual suspects have used this scheme effectively over the years with cigarettes. Last year Obama signed into law a 62 cent increase in the federal cigarette tax. At the same time NYC’s Super-Nanny, Michael Bloomberg signed into law yet another increase to the city’s cigarette tax pushing the total tax on a pack of cigarettes in NYC to $5.26 per pack. At anywhere between $8 to $10 per pack, the tax accounts for substantially more than half the price of the product. This money was supposed to go towards healthcare and hospitals as well, but surprise – surprise, our healthcare system is still immersed deep in red ink.

If this “soda tax” goes through it will just be the beginning. They will raise the tax every year or so in order to fuel the outrageous municipal spending that most politicians and many residents of New York are addicted to. They will also find numerous other food and beverage products to tax in the name of public health.

Should children be gulping down cans of soda? Probably not, but the children that they portray in the television spots aren’t even old enough to buy soda on their own. In most cases the parents purchase the soda and serve it to their children. It’s the responsibility of the parents to be educated and informed enough to know what’s good for their kids and what isn’t. It’s none of my business, it’s none of your business, and it’s not the business of some government bureaucrat! If the government truly believes that soda is dangerous to the health and wellbeing of children, why don’t they ban its consumption by minors? The answer is simple. You don’t raise revenue by banning products or behavior; you raise revenue by taxing products and behavior.

While I personally don’t drink much soda, (except once in a blue moon mixed with some Jim Beam) I reject phony Nanny State schemes to raise tax revenue at the expense of my freedom to decide what is best for me. I urge my fellow New Yorkers not to fall for this ploy. I urge them to finally draw a line in the sand and reject arbitrary taxation targeting our food and our behavior.

Enough is enough already!

When push comes to shove, the main reason for this idiotic decision is to embarrass the Bush/Cheney administration. Obama believes that this will serve as payback to the hard-left for their unconditional support; the security of NYC be damned! The media and the left-wing talking heads are using the same old tired and phony arguments in defending this irresponsible decision. They’re claiming that this will show the world (the Islamic world in particular) how fair and open we are. The trouble with this is that Eric Holder has already said that if by chance KSM and the four others are acquitted, we (United States) still won’t let them go free.

The pathetic and cowardly Michael Bloomberg was quoted by the Daily News as saying the following: “I want to make sure that everybody in New York understands that the terrible tragedy at Fort Hood was an individual who snapped but it has nothing to do with religion.”

Yesterday (Nov. 11th) NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Ray Kelly met with New York’s “Muslim leaders” to discuss the Fort Hood massacre. According to the NY Daily News, the mayor’s press secretary Stu Loeser said the purpose of the meeting was the following: “We’re trying to reach out to leaders in various Muslim communities throughout the city, because we’re trying to prevent the sort of anti-Muslim backlash we’ve seen elsewhere.”

To add insult to injury, this shameful farce was held on Veterans Day! This is a giant slap in the face to all of the victims of the Fort Hood Islamic terrorist lowlife, Nidal Malik Nasan.

I wish someone would tell me about all of the anti-Muslim backlash that this idiot, Stu Loeser, is talking about. Just one example!

The pathetic and cowardly Michael Bloomberg was quoted by the Daily News as saying the following: “I want to make sure that everybody in New York understands that the terrible tragedy at Fort Hood was an individual who snapped but it has nothing to do with religion.”

The fact of the matter is that religion – namely Islam – had everything to do with the Fort Hood massacre! If you believe anything else, you are a self-deceiving, self-hating, leftist moron!

Even if we were to give Bloomberg the benefit of the doubt because of his publicly held office, his asinine statement was still way out of bounds. The federal, state, local, and military investigations into the massacre have barely started and Bloomberg already knows for a fact that religion had nothing to do with the attack. Not only is Bloomberg a feckless self-deceiver, he’s also extremely irresponsible.

If this disgusting meeting wasn’t bad enough solely on its premise, it actually gets much worse. One of the “Muslim leaders” attending this meeting at the invitation of the Bloomberg administration was Siraj Wahhaj.

Wahhaj was indicted by the federal government in 1995 as an un-indicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center terrorist attack. Wahhaj (formerly known as Jeffrey Kearse) later testified as a defense witness for the infamous “blind sheik” Omar Abdel-Rahman. Rahman was charged and convicted of trying to blow up the Lincoln Tunnel and the United Nations. An aide to the mayor claimed that “If we were aware of his full background, it would have been done differently.” This buffoon, Michael Bloomberg, just got elected to his third term in office, but he and his staff are unaware of an un-indicted co-conspirator in the World Trade Center bombing? Was the police commissioner Ray Kelly also unaware of who Mr. Wahhaj was? If that’s the case, every New Yorker should be extremely worried about their lives!

But there’s more! Later in a quote given to the NY Daily News, Mr. Wahhaj pretty much said that Bloomberg was full of crap. Wahhaj said “If the mayor had any discomfort he would not have invited me. Of course, he knew who I was. The mayor is very smart.”

When asked if police commissioner Ray Kelly knew of Mr. Wahhaj, his spokesman said that Commissioner Kelly had never met him before. Really now? I bet Commissioner Kelly never met Osama bin Laden before. Does he not know his background either?

The truth is that both Commissioner Kelly and Mayor Bloomberg knew exactly who Mr. Wahhaj was! He was invited to the meeting because Mr. Bloomberg is a sick twisted coward who worships at the altar of political correctness, diversity, and multiculturalism. Didn’t know who Wahhaj was – my ass!

Bloomberg wasn’t the only liberal blowhard mayor to sound off on the Fort Hood massacre. In Chicago, Mayor Richard Daley said the following about the Fort Hood massacre: “The devastation caused by guns is witnessed each day, and one group of people can’t be blamed for the actions of one person.” These leftist scumbags are either the dumbest people in the world – or the most evil. Blame guns – on a military base! Is it any wonder that Chicago is the murder capital of the country with duplicitous liberal jerks like Daley running things for the past million years?

Anyone who reads this blog regularly knows that I’m not a fan of Michael Bloomberg. I voted for him the first time he ran in November of 2001; less than two months after the 911 terrorist attacks. At the time, Bloomberg was running as a Republican even though he was a life-long Democrat. He asked the NY Republican party if he could run on their line because he knew that he couldn’t get the nomination on the Democrat line running against well known New York Democrats. In other words, he used the stupid NY Republican Party in order to get elected. I smelled a rat from the get-go, but I voted for Bloomberg because he was running against the ultra-liberal Mark Green. Green was actually 15 points ahead a week before the election when out-going mayor Rudy Giuliani, riding high because of his performance on 911, endorsed Bloomberg. Bloomberg then went on to win in a landslide.

Ever since this a-hole took office, he has screwed Republicans and Conservatives any chance he got. He jumped on the liberal bandwagon in regards to every one of their pet issues. He turned out to be a big-brother statist who thinks that he knows what’s best for the rest of us dummies. He called illegal aliens the backbone of the city’s economy, and said that our economy would crash if they were all deported. Bloomberg has turned out to be as left-wing as a politician could possibly be, so I shouldn’t really be surprised that he would take the Fort Hood terror attack and twist it into a politically correct lie.

Bloomberg has proven himself to be just another left-wing Democrat who not only lies for political expediency, but like most Liberals – he also lies to himself.

The race between Liberal Democrat Bill Thompson and phony Independent Michael Bloomberg is like comparing an orange to a tangerine; when it comes down to it, they’re pretty much the same.

Next Tuesday (the 3rd of November) many New Yorkers will be going to the polls to cast their vote in the NYC mayoral race. I will not be one of them! Instead, I will be home doing something much more important – like cleaning my cat’s litter box.

The race between Liberal Democrat Bill Thompson and phony Independent Michael Bloomberg is like comparing an orange to a tangerine; when it comes down to it, they’re pretty much the same. Thompson, who is currently the New York City Comptroller, is a life-long government employee who has held a slew of positions as a bureaucrat and an elected official. Michael Bloomberg is the incumbent two term mayor who believes that he’s so important to New York that he worked to overturn the city’s term-limit laws so that he could run for a third term. Bloomberg, the billionaire founder of Bloomberg L.P., is a true limousine liberal elitist who is obsessed with sticking his snozola into every aspect of the lives of New York residents.

If people cast their ballots based solely on persona, they would probably vote for Thompson, who actually seems like a pretty decent guy. Bloomberg, on the other hand, has a personality that can best be described as Edward Scissorhands running his fingers down a chalkboard. Ideologically they’re both very liberal albeit in a slightly different manner. Thompson is your typical big city tax and spend Democrat who’s in bed with every major union and municipal special-interest group. Bloomberg is slightly better on economic issues, but he’s an irrational environmental wacko and a true enemy of the second amendment. He’s also a Statist who believes that elites like himself need to save dummies like us from ourselves.

In the latest Quinnipiac Poll, Bloomberg leads Thompson by 18 points so it looks like Tuesday, November 3rd will be just a formality as far as electing the next mayor of NYC. Either way, Liberals will continue to run our once-great city into the ground. More and more “wealthy” people will be leaving the city (and state) along with hundreds and perhaps thousands of businesses. At this rate, I don’t know who will be around to pay the taxes to fund all of the outrageous social spending that most of the citizens of this city have grown accustomed to.

But then again; Obama is in office, so there’s always the possibility of a federal bail-out where the rest of you suckers will wind up paying for our welfare state. After all, like GM and Chrysler, New York is too big to fail!

As a New Yorker, I’ve grown accustomed to not having much of a choice on Election Day. Like the rest of the sane people in this great country, I’ll have to set my sights on 2010 and hope the pathetic Republican Party of New York can field a credible candidate to run against our hapless Governor, David Paterson. As for next Tuesday’s election – you can count me out!

In a study done by New York’s Mount Sinai Medical Center released in 2006, 70 percent of 911 recovery workers have suffered lung problems, and high rates of lung abnormalities. Dr. Robin Herbert, co-director of the group that performed the study said “There should no longer be any doubt about the health effects of the World Trade Center. Our patients are sick.”

According to a story in yesterday’s New York Post, New York City is considering expanding its “smoking ban” to include city parks and beaches. Reporter Sally Goldenberg quotes NYC Health Commissioner, Thomas Farley as saying: “We don’t think children, parents when they’re standing at soccer games should have to be breathing in smoke from the person next to them. We don’t think our children should have to be watching someone smoke.”

During his two terms in office, Mayor Michael Bloomberg has taken it upon himself to be the official Nanny of the people of New York. He has pushed and signed into law extensive smoking bans, as well as bans on “trans-fats” in the use of cooking food. These bans have mostly affected private industry and private choices of supposedly free citizens. However, for an elitist busy-body like Michael Bloomberg, this isn’t nearly enough! He’s now pushing to further control the behavior of adult New Yorkers.

This ridiculous smoking ban is part of the city’s “Take Care New York 2012” initiative which also includes advocating for lower sodium consumption, (Salt – for all you Obama voters.) encouraging public health insurance carriers to push more preventive care, and reminding people to exercise more. Can anyone say Nanny State?

Even though Bloomberg became filthy rich by working on Wall Street, I would bet that his parents wanted him to become a Medical Doctor; thus his compulsion to constantly involve himself in health issues. Bloomberg’s fixation with smoking and the junk science regarding “second hand smoke” would be laughable if it weren’t so freakin illogical and hypocritical!

For several years now, the rescue workers who immediately started digging through the smoldering ruins of the Twin Towers after the murderous terrorist attacks of 911 have been complaining of breathing and lung problems. These rescuers were not only firefighters, but also common citizens who happened to have some construction experience and volunteered to help dig for potential survivors and human remains. During the initial stage of the rescue/recovery operation, these workers did all of the digging by hand. They used buckets to scoop the debris and pass it down a long line of fellow volunteers. Many, if not most of these volunteers didn’t have any filtration masks but kept working because they knew that time was of the essence if they were going to find survivors under the tons of twisted metal and concrete.

In a study done by New York’s Mount Sinai Medical Center released in 2006, 70 percent of 911 recovery workers have suffered lung problems and high rates of lung abnormalities. Dr. Robin Herbert, co-director of the group that performed the study said “There should no longer be any doubt about the health effects of the World Trade Center.

The highlights of the Mount Sinai study were:

Almost 70 percent of World Trade Center responders had new or worsened lung symptoms after the attacks.

Among responders who had no health symptoms before the attacks, 61 percent developed lung symptoms while working on the toxic pile.

One-third of those tested had abnormal lung function tests.

The study was based on findings from medical tests performed on 9,500 911 recovery workers over a period of two years. These illnesses caused roughly 8000 city workers and civilian volunteers to file a class action lawsuit against New York City and others.

What does this have to do with Mayor Bloomberg – you ask?

After the Mount Sinai study came out, Mayor Doctor Bloomberg insisted that there was still no direct proof that exposure at ground zero caused the illnesses. He went on to say: “I haven’t seen the Mount Sinai study, but I don’t believe that you can say specifically a particular problem came from this particular event.”

This hypocritical egomaniac has the gall to suggest that second hand smoke in an open public area is a threat to people’s health, while questioning the findings of doctors from one of the most renowned medical institutions in the country. He chooses to believe the politicized junk science regarding second hand smoke, while questioning legitimate first-hand science conducted by medical professionals! Bloomberg also chooses to dishonor and disrespect the thousands of workers who often risked their own lives to bring some closure to the lives of the 911 victims families. Using his twisted logic, New York City parents shouldn’t allow their children out of their homes with all of the emissions from the millions of cars and trucks that constantly traverse the city streets. He’s worried about cigarette smoke in a park or on a beach? Give me a freakin break already!

Anyone who lives in New York and has an ounce of brain matter and honesty has come to know that Michael Bloomberg is as arrogant as a politician can get. This obsession with micromanaging people’s lives and his projection of moral and intellectual superiority over the rest of us reeks of statism and elitist snobbery.

I want to close by making a simple suggestion to our esteemed Mayor. Stop worrying so much about our health and how we conduct our lives, and just mind your own damn business!
