Just before the trading deadline the NY Yankees acquired one of my favorite players in MLB, Lance Berkman. Berkman has been one of the most productive players in baseball over the past decade palying for the Houston Astros. He’s also a throwback type player who keeps his mouth shut and lets his play do the talking.

Lance Berkman is officially a Yankee!

Berkman, who went 0 for 4 in his Yankee debut tonight, will be used mostly as a DH for the remainder of the season. However, I believe that Berkman will have a monster second half with the Yankees, and most likely become the regular firstbaseman next season. Teixeira is a solid defensive firstbaseman, but he doesn’t compare to Berkman. Although I’m a long time Yankee fan, I haven’t been a fan of many of their moves over the years. Getting Lance Berkman is a move that I believe will benefit the NY Yankees for years to come.

I’ll be waiting for him to endorse Marco Rubio for the Florida U.S. Senate and Republicans Bill McCollum or Rick Scott over Democrat Alex Sink for the Florida governorship. Then I’ll wait for him to endorse Barack Obama’s opponent in the 2012 presidential election.

Is Lebron James a Conservative, or is he an Obama loving Liberal/Progressive?

This question is very pertinent to the news that James decided to sign with the Miami Heat. Many NY basketball fans were highly hopeful that James would sign with the Knicks and lead the pathetic club to their first NBA title since 1973.

In a July 1st blog post, The NY Post calculated that Lebron James would pay an additional $12.34 million in taxes on a projected 5 year $96 million contract if he signed with the NY Knicks as opposed to the Miami Heat. I believe that the figure the Post uses is way too low; James will get much, much, more! Read Post Here.

This is due to the fact that Florida has no state income tax (for the time being) while the combined NY City/NY State income tax for Lebron’s salary range will soon be 12.85 percent. If Lebron James is an Obama supporter as over 95 percent of African Americans are, then he’s a world class hypocrite. If by the slim chance that Lebron is a Conservative or Libertarian, he’s not. Plain and simple!

If Lebron James is a supporter of Barack Obama’s hope-n-change tax policies, he should be more than happy to pay the additional $12.34 million to help support the “poor and disadvantaged” of New York. Since most of the “poor and disadvantaged” in NY happen to be African Americans, Lebron should be more than willing to pay the additional taxes. Just imagine how many section 8 housing units could be subsidized by an additional $12.34 million! Just imagine how much food stamps an additional $12.34 million could fund!

But I’m sure that Lebron is a Tea Party supporter and a Sarah Palin fan. I’m sure he’s very concerned about the Obama administration’s march towards Socialism and wealth distribution. I’m sure Lebron remembers what Obama told Joe the Plumber!

While Barack Obama and Joe Biden continue to define America’s “rich” as anyone earning 200K or more, (and dropping fast) their Liberal Elite supporters continue to brand Tea Party demonstrators who make 40, 50, or 60K per year as “greedy.”

By Progressive logic; Lebron James would still rake in over $83 million (using the NY Post figures) over five years if he was a resident of NY. So what’s a measly $12.34 million when it can go towards taking care of people who are “less fortunate” than he is? He would still be rich! How much money does one person need?

The fact of the matter is that as long as you’re part of the progressive elite, you can make millions upon millions of dollars, while taking all the tax advantages you can find without any fear of criticism. However, if you’re a conservative small business owner who makes $175 grand a year, and you’re against tax hikes, you’re a greedy racist!

In his statement Lebron James claimed that the main reason he signed with the Miami Heat is because he has a better chance of winning a championship. If that’s an honest statement, and if Lebron James happens to be a conservative or libertarian – that’s just fine. However, if James is a supporter of Barack Hussein Obama, he’s nothing more than a phony two bit hypocrite who talks the talk, but (when money is involved) refuses to walk the walk.

The Liberal Elite and their pawns have always been able to get away with this double-standard. They’ve always been extremely hypocritical when it comes to income and paying taxes. The average NBA fan has unfortunately been brainwashed (not an excuse) to envy the CEO who makes four or five million per year after a fifteen or twenty year career, but they have no problem with the free-market system when it pertains to their favorite sports stars.

I’ll be patiently waiting for King James to hold another press conference in the near future where he’ll throw his support behind the Tea Party Movement and the Conservatives.

I don’t know, but something tells me that I’ll be waiting a long, long, time.

I’ve been taking it easy for a little while trying to take a short break from Politics, Obama, Democrats, Liberals, Progressives, Socialists, Communists, and Marxists, along with all the other Idiots, Dummies, Fools, Dimwits, Ignoramuses, and Nincompoops that threaten the existence of the America that most of us have come to know and love.

This past weekend I took the time to watch some MMA fights (Mixed Martial Arts) from UFC 115 from Vancouver Canada. One thing that I’ve learned over the years is that sports journalists and announcers are just as stupid and just as biased as those from the mainstream media that we’ve all come to know and despise.

Saturday’s fight card featured a light-heavyweight bout between Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell and Rich “Ace” Franklin. Another feature fight was between heavyweights Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic and Pat Barry.

Much like the jerks in the MSM, the people covering the above mentioned bouts came into the event with their own preconceived notions as to how the bouts should go, who should win, who was too old, who was too slow, and who shouldn’t fight anymore. Like the MSM, they were also ready to spin the outcomes if they didn’t match up to their pre-fight templates.

Let’s start with Cro Cop vs. Pat Barry. From the get-go, Pat Barry was the sentimental favorite of the announcer and commentator. They played on the same ole stereotypes that only liberals and sports journalists seem to be able to get away with.

Pat Barry is younger than Cro Cop (by four years, 35-31 – Oh my God!) so he was said to be more energetic and have more stamina than Cro Cop.

Pat Barry (Like the Barry in the White House) is half black so that automatically meant that he was more athletic than Cro Cop.

If you listened to the commentators, (whose names I won’t mention) you would have believed that Pat Barry would wipe the floor with Cro Cop and send him back to Croatia in a pine box.

When the first round began, Pat Barry got off to a good start thus feeding the already inflated egos of the commentators. They observed how much “faster” Pat Barry was. As if speed really means all that much when fighting in a cage. Barry then proceeded to knock Cro Cop on his butt twice within a short period of time. The first time was more from loss of balance rather than the actual blow. The second time Barry caught Cro Cop with a solid blow to the side of the face. The commentator even speculated that Cro Cop had sustained a broken jaw or broken cheekbone because of the rapid swelling of his face. He’s not a real doctor, he just plays one when commentating on MMA fights. Both times Cro Cop jumped backed to his feet quickly although Pat Barry made no effort to rush him while he was on the mat. The commentators immediately pounced to the conclusion that Barry had given Cro Cop a break by not attacking him while he was down. Pat Barry clearly won the first round and the commentators were in awe of their own wisdom. It was only a matter of time before Barry put Cro Cop down for good.

I won’t bore you with the details, but Cro Cop tore Pat Barry to shreds over the next two rounds finally winning by submission (Choke) with 30 seconds left in the third and final round.

Cro Cop bashes Pat Barry

After the fight was over, the commentators droned on about the first round insinuating that Barry could have finished off Cro Cop if he hadn’t given him a “break.” They completely overlooked the fact that Barry may not have wanted to go to the ground with Cro Cop because he (Barry) lacks a ground game. Cro Cop wasn’t just laying there flat on his back, he was already getting up anticipating Barry’s rush. I believe that Barry was correct in not wanting to go to the ground as proved by the ease with which Cro Cop handled him on the floor in rounds 2 and 3. Instead of crediting Cro Cop with a great comeback victory after losing the first round, they spun it as Cro Cop being lucky. They created the template for a Barry victory and couldn’t let it go when the results proved them dead wrong. Sound familiar?

In the Chuck Liddell – Rich Franklin fight, the template stated that Liddell was too old (40) and that he should not have come back into the ring after a 14 month layoff and two straight loses by knockout. It seems that whenever an athlete reaches a certain age the morons in the media begin their endless blabbering about retirement. I believe it’s a jealousy thing. Maybe there should be a mandatory retirement age for members of the media – how great would that be?

When the fight finally began, Liddell was his usual aggressive self stalking Franklin all over the ring. Liddell was the clear aggressor with Franklin in constant retreat. At one point Liddell broke Franklin’s left forearm with a brutal kick. Near the end of the round Liddell rushed Franklin and threw him down against the cage wailing on him. Franklin managed to get back up and was in retreat once again with Liddell in hot pursuit. Then out of nowhere, Liddell walked into a short right hand by Franklin and fell to the ground unconscious – winner Rich Franklin by knockout! The punch that Franklin threw was a defensive punch while almost falling backwards under the attack of Liddell. It was much more of a lucky punch than a hard punch.

Now there may very well be something wrong with Chuck Liddell; he should not have been knocked out by that awkward punch! Perhaps it’s because he’s been knocked over the noggin one too many times over his career – one too many concussions. However, if Liddell would have backed off the final 5 seconds of the round instead of aggressively pursuing Franklin, he would most likely have won the fight. The chances are that the doctors would not have allowed Franklin to come out for the second round with a broken arm. Hiding the arm injury was the only way Franklin would have been able to answer the bell for round 2. I don’t think Franklin would have done that. God forbid that any reporter ask him that question!

Liddell and Franklin face off

Rich Franklin won the fight, but he was losing the round right up to the last five seconds. It wasn’t a great fight for Franklin! It was much more a case of Liddell losing the match in spectacular fashion rather than Franklin winning it in spectacular fashion. If Liddell would have survived those final five seconds the commentators and media covering the event would have been forced to sing his praises as a warrior who came back and beat a good fighter proving everyone who thought he was washed up wrong. Instead, Liddell has now basically been branded a bum who didn’t have any business stepping back into the ring. Is the media fickle or what? They didn’t care about the details of the fight, they only cared that Liddell lost and that they were supposedly proven right.

Watching these fights, I once again proved to myself that sports media can often be as irritating as the MSM. In fact, there really isn’t much difference. Both media entities create their own reality, and then use spin to defend that reality at all costs. That’s what made it so simple for that pathetic joke by the name of Keith Olbermann to transition from ESPN to MSNBC. Different topics – same BS!

I rarely talk about NBA basketball because it’s just a tremendous waste of time and energy to discuss this corrupt sports league full of immature ne’er-do-wells. At least professional wrestling has long since come out and admitted that the matches are predetermined and that the whole thing is just “sports entertainment.”

But………………

It has been reported that the Phoenix Suns will don a special uniform for their playoff game later tonight against the San Antonio Spurs. The front of the uniform will have “Los Suns” embroidered atop the player’s number. Tomorrow happens to be May the 5th, which is a big holiday in Mexico – Cinco de Mayo. According to the Suns, this will be done to “honor the Latino community and the diversity of our league, the state of Arizona, and our nation.”

Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver is a vocal opponent of the new Arizona illegal immigration law – SB1070. I guess it’s kind of hard to find Americans who are willing to sweep and clean the US Airways Center after the games; just another example of the jobs Americans won’t do!

Not only is Robert Sarver speaking out against SB1070, but team captain Steve Nash also decided to publicly state his opposition to the new law. Nash, who happens to be a Canadian citizen via South Africa, said the following: “I think the law is very misguided. I think it’s unfortunately, to the detriment of our society and our civil liberties. I think it’s very important for us to stand up for things we believe in. As a team and as an organization, we have a lot of love and support for all of our fans. The league is very multicultural. We have players from all over the world, and our Latino community here is very strong and important to us.”

I have a bit of advice for Steve Nash. Shut the hell up and just play basketball you ingrate!! You may be “smart” on the basketball court, but in the real world you’re just a pathetic idiot! The citizens of Arizona don’t want or need wealthy Canadian carpetbaggers telling them what’s good for them. Mr. Nash, why don’t you urge your Canadian government to invite the 460,000 or so illegal aliens in Arizona to come up to Canada to live and work? Luckily for Canada, they have a huge buffer called the United States in between them and Mexico.

Nash is just the latest example of dimwitted celebrities opening their big mouths when they should just keep them the hell shut. Nash plays 41 games a year (plus playoffs) in Arizona and collects more than 12 million per season in salary. For him to lecture the lifelong citizens of Arizona who have to pay for these illegal invaders, not only through their taxes, but with their lives, is the height of arrogance and chutzpah!

I usually don’t give a crap who wins what NBA playoff series, but I’m now rooting for the Spurs to knock the Suns out and send Steve Nash back to his morally superior country. I also hope that the true patriots and intelligent people of Arizona will boycott future Phoenix Suns basketball games and all of their merchandise. Let the illegal “Latinos” support them – let them pay for Steve Nash’s salary!

Gee……..I was really considering a Mercedes E-Class, but because of Tiger Woods, I think I’ll go with the Buick Park Avenue!<

On Friday Tiger Woods held a controlled “press conference” in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida where he supposedly apologized for his well publicized extramarital affairs. Like most things that Tiger Woods does, the event was tightly scripted. He read from a prepared text and did not take any questions from the press.

Who exactly was Tiger Woods apologizing to?

It sure wasn’t for my benefit because I could give a damn what Tiger Woods does; I have a lot more important things to think about. I think the same goes for most of the American public. Most people really don’t care how celebrities act in their private lives. For others who regularly tune into top rated shows like Desperate Housewives, The Real Housewives of….., The Bad Girls Club, Real World, etc. Tiger’s lifestyle is no big deal.

Make no mistake Tiger Woods was apologizing and sucking up to past, present, and future corporate advertisers. After all, Woods didn’t become the first pro sports billionaire by just sinking birdies. In fact, compared to the average golf pro Tiger Woods doesn’t really play that much golf; often skipping out on “minor” tournaments. Even at his level, Woods could probably only pocket several million dollars per year by just playing golf. It’s Buick (GM), American Express, and Nike that made him a billionaire. I still don’t quite understand how an athlete or a celebrity can make someone purchase an item that they otherwise wouldn’t be interested in.

Gee……..I was really considering a Mercedes E-Class, but because of Tiger Woods, I think I’ll go with the Buick Park Avenue!

Much like our President, Barack Obama, Tiger Woods is at his best when he and his people have total control over his environment and public image. Like Obama without his teleprompter, the real-life Tiger Woods falls short of the naively grand expectations of many people.

Speaking of apologies, I would much rather get an apology from Barack Obama for exploding the national debt and the budget deficit, for trying to destroy our healthcare system, and for basically trying to turn the greatest country in the history of man into a colder version of Venezuela. I won’t hold my breath waiting.

On Thursday, I made my Super Bowl XLIV prediction and almost got it right on the button. I predicted a 37 to 17 game. The only problem is that I got it completely wrong as to which team would come out on top. Obviously, the Saints won by a score of 31 – 17.

Congratulations to the New Orleans Saints on their first Super Bowl victory. They flat outplayed the Colts, especially in the second half. They conclusively proved that they were the better team, and their victory was well deserved.

The Colts are a much more disciplined team than the Saints, and Peyton Manning has been here before; he won’t develop brain-lock under pressure and hand the Saints the game like Bret Favre did.

I know that the New Orleans Saints are the sentimental “feel good” favorites of the media and most football fans who aren’t Indianapolis Colts fans.

Unfortunately for the Saints, they still have to play the game this coming Sunday in South Florida. The Saints played a sloppy and undisciplined game two weeks ago against the Minnesota Vikings. Lucky for the Saints, the Vikings played a sloppier game turning the ball over four times. The last turnover probably cost the Vikings a trip to the Super Bowl when Bret Favre basically handed the Saints the game with his idiotic throw that turned into an easy interception just as the Vikings were approaching comfortable field goal range with less than a minute left in regulation.

The Saints then won the toss and scored (field goal) in their first possession of overtime.

My prediction for this Sunday’s Super Bowl is that the Colts will roll over the Saints in Super Bowl XLIV (That’s 44 for all of the Obama zombies out there). The Colts are a much more disciplined team than the Saints, and Peyton Manning has been here before; he won’t develop brain-lock under pressure and hand the Saints the game like Bret Favre did.

I can’t help but comment on the whole New Orleans/Katrina focus that the media will be exploiting. We’ll hear the usual gobbledygook about how much a Saints victory will mean to the people of New Orleans and the victims of Katrina in particular.

To that I say – give me a break!

Will a Saints victory rebuild any homes that were destroyed?

Will a Saints victory put any money into the pockets of the Katrina victims?

Will a Saints victory finally fix the issues with the levees?

This is just another feel-good story that the media is pushing. It has nothing to do with the real world and the people who went through Katrina.

If the Saints win, the people of New Orleans might feel a little better for a day or two, but they then have to start dealing with reality again. Only the media can attach such meaning to a mere sports event. After all, they are the ones who live in a self-induced bubble out of touch with the real world that most of the rest of us live in.

In spite of his nearly two decades of experience in the NFL, Favre is probably still the best quarterback at pulling defeat from the mouth of victory.

Tonight I found myself rooting for the Minnesota Vikings during the NFC championship game against the New Orleans Saints. I don’t like the Saints for several reasons not least of which is that they’re the media’s sentimental favorites to win the Super Bowl simply because they’re from the city that was hit by hurricane Katrina. We’re sure to hear loads of syrupy nonsense about how important a Saints Super Bowl victory would be to the people of New Orleans. Sure…..and a Saints victory will somehow miraculously rebuild all of the homes that were lost in the hurricane. Not to mention that this will give the media more golden opportunities to blame George Bush for the disaster and its aftermath.

Anyway, with the game tied at 28 and the Vikings on the verge of getting into field goal range with less than a minute left in regulation, I started to get really nervous for the Vikings. After all, this is the time when Brett Favre usually does something really stupid. I believe that his idiotic decision to throw the football across the field when he had a clear ten to fifteen yards ahead of him with his kicker close to field goal range cost the Minnesota Vikings a Super Bowl appearance. The ill advised pass was of course intercepted by the Saints sending the game into overtime.

I know – I know; Favre’s defenders (If he still has any) will say that Favre had an injured ankle and couldn’t run the ball. To that excuse I say bull-shit! He could have simply walked out of bounds and gained 3 to 5 yards with no problem at all. In spite of his nearly two decades of experience in the NFL, Favre is probably still the best quarterback at pulling defeat from the jaws of victory.

After Favre’s super-bonehead play late in the fourth quarter, cornerback Asher Allen had a chance to give Favre and the Vikings one more chance in overtime. On the first and only possession of the extra period Allen flubbed a potential interception when a pass thrown by Drew Brees bounced off a receiver and right into his hands. The ball momentarily teetered on his fingertips before it slowly started falling away from him. Instead of moving his feet and/or bending his knees to get his hands under the ball, the 22 year old Allen suddenly developed a case of crocodile arms combined with severe stiffness of the knees and spine. Shortly after the near sure interception dropped to the turf, the Saints were celebrating their first trip to the Super Bowl.

It’s now time for Brett Favre to go through his usual depression about another lost opportunity at another championship. Viking fans will also be treated to more of his neurotic indecisiveness regarding whether or not he’ll return next season or retire once again.

Bret Favre had a great season after many people thought that he was done after last year’s horrendous season with the NY Jets. It’s too bad that he once again self-destructed during the biggest moment of the biggest game of the season.

I would not want to see those kind of comments from people who are in a responsible position within the NFL. No. Absolutely not.”

If CNN or MSNBC polled their brain-dead viewers on who was the greater evil, Rush Limbaugh or the Fox News Channel, the results would probably be too close to call. I would also venture to say that the same people who believe that Limbaugh is too “controversial” and “divisive” would say the same thing about Fox News. Therefore, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell should resign immediately! You see, the Comish is married to Jane Skinner, who is a long time anchor for the Fox News Channel.

Furthermore, if the Commissioner really wants to hear some divisive comments, he should take some time and study the history of his ally in the fight to keep Rush Limbaugh out of the NFL. I’m speaking of none other than the infamous race hustler Al Sharpton.

Here are some of the loving peaceful comments that have come out of the humongous mouth of Al Sharpton:

“We will not stand by and allow them (whites) to move this brother so that some white interloper can expand his business.”

“We (blacks) taught philosophy and astrology and mathematics before Socrates and them Greek Homos ever got around to it.”

“That nigger whore turning tricks in City Hall.” He was referring to the former black mayor of New York City, David Dinkens.

“If the Jews want to get it on, tell them to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house.”

These are just a few of the endearing and uniting statements uttered by Sharpton over his long and illustrious career as a professional race monger. Does anyone believe that Commissioner Goodell would have the cojones to balk at the prospect of Al Sharpton becoming a part owner of an NFL franchise? Yeah – right!

Roger Goodell capitulated to the race-baiters, leftist demagogues, and ignorant fools, and took the cowards way out of the Rush Limbaugh “controversy.” This idiot would have us believe that he’s protecting the reputation of a league filled with assorted miscreants that include dog killers and torturers. Give me a freakin break Mr. Goodell! You’re not only a yellow belly coward, but you’re a towering hypocrite as well.
