A retired Chicago cop who suffered a stroke is being harassed by the dumb-ass town residents of Aurelia, Iowa about his service dog, Snickers, a Pit bull mix.

The MSM has done its part in pushing the senseless frenzy surrounding this particular breed of dog. They play up the stereotypes of the Pit bull and push the often ignorant perceptions of this magnificent canine. The problem with Pit bulls over the years is with the owners low-lives that abuse them.

Pit bulls are among the sweetest and most loving dogs one can own. They are brave, loyal and extremely intelligent. They are not inherently dangerous when raised correctly, trained correctly, and owned by responsible people. I have never been bit by a Pitt bull; all of the dog bites that I have suffered have come from small dogs, including toy poodles. Are Pitt bulls potentially more dangerous if and when they do bite another dog or a human being? Due to their powerful bite and relentlessness, the answer is probably yes. But a vehicle with a 400 horsepower Hemi can potentially be more dangerous than a Hyundai. It’s up to the owner of the vehicle to operate it in a safe and responsible manner.

It’s sickening to me that there are hundreds of towns and cities throughout the United States just like Aurelia, Iowa. Although Pit bull ownership has not been banned in New York City, not yet anyway, if you lose your Pit bull and it’s picked up by the police or animal control there’s a very good chance it will be quickly destroyed. This past summer a Pit bull in my neighborhood escaped from its yard and went running into the nearby park where the owners often walked him. Although he “looked intimidating” he was a total pussycat. He was quickly picked up and taken to AC&C (animal care and control) where he was destroyed only a few hours later. The owners of the poor dog bare most of the responsibility because he didn’t have a collar and tag, and he wasn’t micro-chipped, but being a “mean looking” Pit bull sure didn’t help the poor dog.

Because of the prejudice and ignorance regarding the Pit Bull breeds, owners need to be extra diligent. The dogs need to be tagged, chipped, and trained. Most Pitt bulls love people and may run towards a person and try to jump up at them due to exuberance. Hopefully the utter sweetness and personality of the dog will eventually help to combat the fear, ignorance and irrationality surrounding the breed.

I guess that’s Newt Gingrich – that’s what he ultimately does!

Gingrich made the following statements when the topic at last night’s Republican national security debate turned to illegal immigration and controlling our borders:

OK Newt; just where is the humane line drawn? Less than 10 years is humane, but more than 10 isn’t? Is it perfectly humane to boot out childless illegal immigrants, but inhumane to expel those that have produced offspring?

Note to Mr. Gingrich: This is exactly why most illegal aliens “start families” as soon as they manage to sneak into our country; that’s if the women aren’t already pregnant when they arrive! Ever hear of the term ‘anchor baby’ Newt? Also, just how does an illegal immigrant pay taxes (except sales tax) if they don’t have a (legit) social security number? I’m a bit confused.

Here is where Newt’s elitist insider problem is put squarely under the spotlight. Mr. Gingrich and people like him live in an exclusive bubble, a bubble where they rarely have to deal directly with the illegal immigrant community. I live in Queens, NY – right in the trenches! I pass by public schools where the kids coming out are all speaking Spanish as they’re walking down the street. Most of these kids were born right here in the United States – anchor babies! However, they don’t consider themselves Americans, but rather, Mexicans, Guatemalans, Salvadorians, etc. etc. etc. Doubt me? Ask any public school teacher that isn’t a brainwashed progressive zombie, they’ll tell you!

Newt and the Washington elites don’t see what I see, and they don’t hear what I hear. They don’t see the damage that illegal immigration does to the very fabric of our nation – to our culture. I’m an immigrant who came here at the age of 4 and I have never, ever referred to myself as anything but an American. The Washington elites have a very hard time admitting that the immigrants of today (particularly illegal immigrants) aren’t the same immigrants that have come here in the past. My family came here for freedom and opportunity. We didn’t come here for government handouts, and we didn’t come here to change America into a new version of the nation we chose to leave. We came here to become Americans!

Sorry Newt, but people that came here illegally should not be rewarded simply because they purposely started a family in order to claim a connection to this country, and therefore, a supposed right to stay. What this has done, and will continue to do, is to give millions upon millions more the motivation to do the same thing. How many illegal immigrants and their anchor babies can this country absorb while still maintaining its principals, economic viability, and identity?

Unfortunately, Bob makes too much sense for most people to take notice. As a rule, our federal government usually passes laws that will enrich the U.S. Treasury so the politicians can continue to buy people’s votes through spending. Or, the laws enrich the feckless politicians directly, or their buddies, business partners, and big money contributors. We need to have a session of congress where not one additional law is passed, rather where old laws are repealed.

It’s obvious to anyone that doesn’t have a left-wing political agenda, or an IQ below 50 that these disgusting protestors are themselves motivated by personal greed. Not only do these losers want free healthcare, education, and housing, but they evidently believe they’re also entitled to free hot dogs and coffee! These vile creatures are nothing more than an eclectic collection of two-legged parasites.

Also, if these coffee and hot dog vendors actually believed that this trash would be appreciative of their initial generosity, they’re even stupider than the protestors. And, if they were actually down with the protestors, they then deserve everything they got!

They’re at it again! The smelly losers have trashed the bathroom at a local diner, and then made threats to the establishment’s owner when she cut off their bathroom privileges.

I really hate to sound like a broken record, but if we don’t wake up soon as a nation and as a culture, our grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be paying the price for our ignorance and cowardice. America will become as dark and oppressive as the shitholes from where these Muslims came from.

Just the fact that Muslims are allowed and accepted into Christian/Catholic institutions is mind-boggling. Is the Catholic Church now going to capitulate to the Muslim mob just as our government is doing? (stupid question – of course it is!) Why is Western Civilization surrendering to the wickedness of Islam? Again, the Muslim population in the United States is still less than 1%. What will the scenario be when it reaches 5%, 10%, 25%, on and on and on?

I unfortunately live less than a block away from a mosque; my neighborhood is filled with them. What do you think would happen if I decided to just walk into one of them? You see, the rest of us have to respect Islam as well as their places of worship, but as usual, Islam doesn’t reciprocate.

I usually try to refrain from going over the top with my language, but this is one of those times when anything short of a Fuck You just won’t suffice. So to the filthy vermin complaining about their treatment at Catholic University – FUCK YOU!

However…

A few days ago my wife and I reluctantly accepted an invite to a party from a liberal couple that we’re mildly acquainted with. Don’t ask me how I knew they were liberals. That’s like asking a cat how it recognizes a mouse! The party began at a local hangout and then moved to the couple’s apartment. I immediately regretted not opening up my handy excuse book for ditching liberals, in-laws, and other assorted pains in the ass. I could easily have been attending a family funeral in Cleveland. I could have told them that a long lost cousin just flew in from Europe and I promised to take him to see the Empire State Building. Or, I could have come up with a sudden attack of the dreaded 24 hour stomach virus. But I didn’t, and we went.

What a mistake!

I have no excuse for this colossal lapse in judgment except for the fact that these people have made overtures before, and we felt obliged to accept this time. We hateful conservatives don’t enjoy hurting people’s feelings – a definite weakness! Growing up in New York this isn’t by any means the first time I’ve attended parties and events filled with liberals. Needless to say I’ve regretted it each and every time – always promising myself that it would be the last time.

Most of the people in this party seemed nice enough although anyone with half a brain could peg them for left-wingers in about half a second. Most, if not all, were obviously pretty well-to-do. It would be a safe bet to say that my wife and I were the paupers of the group. Most of these people seemed to be involved in the “art world” or other “creative fields.” Although I tried my best to tune them out, the words gallery and museum seemed to pop up quite often. Thankfully the ample wine supply helped dull my senses from the onslaught of all the pretentious liberal gibberish.

We both sat there like two lumps on a log while the libs began to play YouTube videos of Tina Fey on Saturday Night Live on their Apple desktop. I kid you not! It seems that even I didn’t fully realize the extent of their ongoing obsession with Palin, Bush, and Republicans. Speaking of Palin, Bush, and Republicans, I waited in dreadful anticipation for the inevitable shift of conversation into politics. Like all obnoxious liberals, these people automatically assume that everyone in the room agrees with their opinions and shares the same political and cultural views. After all, if I was a Conservative/Republican they would surely recognize me by the horns protruding from my head – wouldn’t they?

On this particular evening the political conversation centered on the on-going Wall Street protests going on in lower Manhattan. Do I really need to mention that everyone in the room with the exception of two people agreed that the protests are a marvelous thing? As I picked up my wine consumption to further dull my senses, I wondered how many poor and working class people purchase the artwork from the galleries they work in. I thought about how stupid a person has to be in order to believe that fine art and theatre can be sustained without people of wealth.

Being the outsiders, and not being involved in The Arts, we were fortunately left out of the conversation and our opinions were not sought out. That’s probably a good thing for the sake of the party and for the sake of the couple that invited us. Like mafia members who inadvertently bring an undercover cop or FBI agent into their clique, our hosts would surely have felt the wrath of their artsy socialist friends for allowing someone like me into their circle. They could have been blacklisted from all future gallery openings and wine & cheese parties – God forbid!

Anyway, it was a humongous relief when we left the so-called party and returned to the real world. In the future I would be more likely to accept a party invitation from the Hell’s Angels than socialize with this bunch again. Did I learn anything from these wasted four and a half hours? Not really! If anything, it just solidified my belief that liberals are the most predictable creatures on the face of the earth – not to mention annoying and stupid.

One of the things that I can confidently say is that I can’t even come close to imagining how the families of the 9/11 victims feel. It’s impossible.

In 2001 I knew my wife for less than three years. On September 11^th, 2001 she was working on 9^th Ave. near 14^th Street in Manhattan. After the attacks she and thousands of others walked from the lower west side of Manhattan all the way to the 59^th Street Bridge on the east side, then across to Long Island City, Queens. I waited for what seemed forever for her to come out of the crowd on the Queens side of the bridge. Even though I knew she would be alright, it felt so damn good to finally spot her coming towards me.

I can’t even imagine how I would feel if she never came back like so many others that day.

I can’t even imagine not experiencing all the great times we had since that day.

I can’t even imagine not being able to see her smile again.

I can’t even imagine not hearing her voice again.

I really can’t imagine life without her for the past 10 years. But I’m very, very, lucky that I don’t have to – it’s not my reality. Unfortunately, for so many husbands, wives, fathers, mothers, children, and friends, the nightmare that we now casually refer to as 9/11 is all too real.

So what can I possibly say to the families and friends of the victims of that fateful day?

Not much, I’m afraid.
